So, in my town there is only one station that has E85, and the quality probably isn't the best sometimes. Instead of a Lund unit, I have my tune from the local speed shop and I can't switch back easily if there is a prolonged bad batch of E85 at the only filing station.

My question is, if I test out the fuel and its below 70% or something, is it possible to add a dose of octane boost to compensate for the low mix with regards to the extra timing in the tune?

I'm making 420 to the wheels now, would a flex tune be comporable to the full 85 tune in this range, or would the percentage drop-off make it not worth it?

Has anybody had drums of 85 delivered to their homes? That actually seems like the best bet even if it is more expensive.

There's more to E85 tuning that just more timing.

I would not run a Lund E85R tune on E70 or below. If that's what you test your local fuel at, you should probably run their flex tune until you can get to 85. I'm sure they would say the same thing.

Exact scenario where a flex would come in handy. Same peak power, the e85r tune just ramps up the timing sooner but the flex will allow for the lower e content with no issue.

Octane boosters are specifically formulated for gasoline.
