Damn my shaftmasters doesn't have the bolt dowels on the holes like that for the trans flange. I guess mine was the second one made so that could be why. That is a much better idea though

Yes and no... it's a giant PITA to get all the factory loctite out of those little pockets before installing the shaftmasters DS. :headbang:

I went back & forth between the Dynotech & the Shaftmasters driveshaft for my car, and in the end I went with Shaftmasters. I called(and emailed) both companies and had completely different experiences. I called and spoke with Mike? maybe at Shaftmasters 1st time about 2 weeks ago. Very nice guy, answered some of the questions I had early on about driveshafts for our S550 platform. He was very detailed in telling me all about the driveshaft that build for our cars, wasn't in a hurry to get off the phone, and told me If I had any other questions to please give him a call back. Made 2 more calls to him over the next 2 weeks, always picked up the phone, took his time to answer my question, and said don't be afraid to call back with anymore questions I might have.
Reached out to Dynotech 2 weeks ago right off I got off the phone with Shaftmasters, got no answer and left a message with my contact info. Three days go by and still no return call. Called again and left a message. Three MORE days go by and no call still. Called and left a message. I waited a couple more days and sent them an email on the website and do this day, never got a return email or phone call. I was really leaning towards Dynotech going into this early on after reading all the positive reviews here on M6G, But...Customer service is HUGE for me, I guess they couldn't be bothered to pick up the phone or return an email and answer a few questions on one of their products. Very dissappointed.:tsk:

Sorry for the long rant, figured it might help other people who value customer service like I do..

Had a shaftmasters, it vibrated pretty bad, clocked to every position, thought about shimming, then thought......I shouldn't have to do this. Returned it, bought a Dynotech, first shot in and flawless. Vibration gone, smooth as stock. That being said, David @ SM is genuinely one of the nicest guys I've ever dealt with and was more than happy to help with my return and give me a full refund. Stand up guy. I'm sure he's sold 100's of shafts that worked just fine, but mine didn't and I was tired of effing with it.

Throughout my process of selecting the first shaft customer service weighted heavily in my decision to go with SM, along with a shorter lead time, but in the back of my mind I knew I had read about others having vib issues with them. By comparison, Dynotech doesn't answer the phone or return emails, but I found ZERO posts of anyone having vib issues. I went with better CS, shorter lead time, slightly cheaper, but then had issues. In the end, Dynotech was flat out perfection and an easier install IMO. No trans adapter or extra hardware and also slightly lighter.

Again, this was just my experience and I'm telling it like it is.

My dynotech was much better than the shaftmasters going in straight out of the box, but not perfect. I had to spend a few hours and finally got it 99.99% smooth by adding a couple very small washers under two of the yoke bolts. I've tried shimming down the transmission mount as well, which didn't seem to make much difference, if any.

Both shafts are now made very, very similarly (see post #26 above) and both are top notch craftsmanship. Although I had vibe issues with the SM, I would still recommend them 1st since they are significantly cheaper and have an absolutely painless return policy. Dynotech does not accept returns, and is not really interested in helping/supporting you if you do have problems.
