Water evaporates from the coolant all the time, but has no where to go and eventually re condenses unless the pressure got higher than the cap spring, which will then do it's job of venting a little bit to protect the cooling system. If you were driving hard this summer that's where your water went. most cooling systems start venting at like .8 bar. It's only steam too, as the actual antifreeze takes much more temp to boil so it doesn't leave a trace

well it was ridiculously hot here this summer as it is always with awful humidity as always, plus running the car normally. It's a lot of heat under that hood.

anyways. I put more in it. It's back up to normal now! We'll see how long it lasts now. Just hope there is no leak but with it being cooler now we'll see.

Im starting to lose my patience with Ford Service, took it in 3 times already for a coolant leak and its there this morning again. They replaced the clamp and the hose on the reservoir tank and its still coming out.

Nothing to worry about here, once the tank over-pressurizes from heat there is a relief at the bottom of the cap towards the engine.

Some steam will come out over a period of time, you wont see it or notice it. Just top it up every few months and you're good to go.

Here is a picture of where the steam escapes from;

Cheers,

2016 EB w/PP -

My coolant level is the same as stangbro posted above. When dead cold before starting the car, the level is right at the middle where the top and bottom part of the molded tank meet, no higher.
