considering to buy a Mustang, this year or beginning 2016, we have a discussion here at home.
being at the age of 62 now, my wife's opinion is that I'm too old to drive a car like this.
I'd like to know the age of you guys, who drive the actual Mustang or already ordered the new one.

Tell her that she's too old to be married to you. One way or another, that gets you a new Mustang. :p

Ronny....I'm 65 in August...having grown up around performanc cars, 64 Vette, 300Z, Infinity G35 AND having raised 5 kids....I figured it's about time to find that special relationship we can have with our sports cars....ya...that "other" someone special in our lives...HA! For me...now's the time.
I can also tell you my 93 year old father in law has and still drives his 97 GT Mustang with over 230,000 miles on it and loves it as much today as he did when he bought it at 76.

So there ya go my friend...ya just gotta go for it!

I'm 50, my parents who drive a GT argue that its Grandma's Transportation 72 or Grandpaps Toy 74. Either way, my Mom is excited about line lock. You have many years of Mustanging ahead. Heck, I'd even bet half the Mustang owners are older than you. I've heard studies show that driving a Mustang GT reduce your vitual age by 10 years.:gossip:

Your Mom is excited about line lock?! Too freakin' cool, man! Honestly, I think my Mom would love it too. She just picked up a new 2014 Escape Titanium with the 2.0L EB, but she was considering a Mustang. She loves mine, wants to drive it, etc. She just needed something more practical for her business.

My grandma drove a 2004 mustang before she passed away. It was her dream car and she loved it. Honestly, as long as you are physically able to get in and out of the car, I see no problem. I don't get how someone can be too old for a car. My great grandfater (just turned 98) still drives. He drives a ranger and a buick town car thing lol, but those are fairly easy for him to get in and out of with his cane (he has trouble with that). If he was able to get in and out of hot rods and sports cars easily, he would be driving one of those. He has several cars from the '30s and older that just sit in his warehouse.

It's my philosophy that as soon as we start telling ourselves we're too old to do fun things, THAT is when we truly grow old. Stay young at heart! Get the Mustang and keep enjoying life. We only get one shot at it!

Ronny, its never too old to drive a Mustang. And anyway if you are feeling old, you need to drive a Mustang to feel young again. :D

Either way, my Mom is excited about line lock.
You have a super cool mom! :hail:

Unless you physically cannot enter and exit the car or have dangerously slow reaction times when driving, you are NOT too old! Good luck on your purchase! PS - been to Brussels a number of times. Great city!

My opinion is that you're only as old as you feel and act. My father is 66 now. I'm sure that he'd seriously consider buying the new Mustang if 1) they didn't just buy a new Focus for my mom, and 2) he didn't already have a 1966 Mustang convertible (among other choices). Maybe some people believe that at that point in life, you should only drive Buicks, play shuffleboard, go on cruises and live in retirement communities. If those folks are happy, who am I to argue? But that ain't me, and I can't see anyone else not inclined to be that settling for it either...
