It will stay like the for a bit them it will all of a sudden go back up? Window works on the switch no problem. anyone else had this?

Just a quick search came up with this…maybe a recalibration will fix it

Short Drop Glass (Front Windows)

This feature lowers the glass when either door is opened to improve door efforts and sealing. The glass returns to its closed position when the door is closed.

Re-Calibrating a Window

Note

: Perform short drop re-calibration with the doors closed.

Re-calibrating with doors open will cause the window to continuously bounce back.

If a window will not raise again when the door is closed, use the switch to fully raise the window, then hold the switch up for two seconds.

If a window will not lower when the door is opened:

1. Use the switch to fully lower the window, then hold the switch down for two seconds.

2. Immediately after releasing the switch, pull the switch up to fully raise the window and hold the switch up for two seconds.

you may have wiring problems which conflict between the door and the window
@harryjones Have you any idea where mate? I was thinking it maybe something to do with the door sensor not saying the door is closed or the window sensor?

Water gets into the plug to the motor. I tried drying mine and filling it with dielectric grease and that solved it for a year. Looks like the fix is to replace the window motor and fill the plug with grease. I'm also going to cover it with some kind of water proofing. Waiting on a motor currently.

@K4fxd Thanks Pal, I will take the door card off and have a look. Are there any hidden screws or awkward clips i need to be mindful of when taking the door card off?

Everything needs to be exercised.. if you don't open or close your windows very often probably a good idea to every time you ride put the window down and up two to three times in a row that will keep all of the components lubricated etc.

It's kind of like if you have a four-wheel drive vehicle two to three times a year you should put it into four-wheel drive and drive otherwise when you need it you may find that it's not working.

Makes sense mate, i will certainly do that once its sorted. Although the passenger window is fine and that gets used even less.

Just replaced my window motor, took about 30 min.
Remove the door panel like in the video above. The plug on the first wire you see pulls out in the direction of the wires. It looks like it pulls out another way. I was getting real frustrated with this. You will need a needle nose to remove the door latch cable. You might be able to do the job with it hooked up but I didn't want the panel in the way.

Once the panel is off remove the plastic from the regulator/motor hole it is about the size of a 6x9 speaker.

2) Remove the door speaker. The plug on this is a pain also. I used a pick and pressed the little button an the lower part of the plug and it released. (I should have taken pics)

3) Reach in through the speaker opening and remove the motor plug. This one is pretty obvious as to how it unlocks. Dump the water out of it and blow it dry. If you don't have an air compressor use a can of air.

4) There are 3 bolts or screws holding the motor to the regulator. The bottom 2 are easy. The top is hidden behind the steel door panel. You can either remove the regulator bolts to get room or do what I did and drill a hole over the screw. I think it was a 9/16's drill bit. My thought here is if I leave the regulator bolted solid I shouldn't need to re-center the window. Might not even with removing the regulator bolts but no one will see the small drilled hole, and it will not hurt anything.

5) After the screws are out reach up through the speaker opening and pull the motor toward the outside of the door. It will come out easily and fits through the speaker opening without any trouble.

Assembly is the reverse. I did not have to re-time the window. It worked perfectly.

Don't forget to pull the window switch wiring before you snap the door panel back on

Have some dielectric grease on hand and fill the plug with it before you plug it into the motor. This will prevent water from causing the motor to fail again.
Hope this helps someone.

I dryed mine out and filled the socket with dielectric grease about a year ago. So looking like the fix lasts a year.
