Just purchased a 2017 V6 Convertible. The power drivers seat makes a rubbing noise when moving forwards and backwards. Exactly the same as in this video (starts at 55 seconds)

Is this normal? Can it be fixed?

Check under the seat to make sure there are no obstructions.

It could be that the seat motor is failing - see attached Ford SSM:

Mine does that. It is caused by an overweight driver leaning towards the center of the car to push the start button. If I do not lean, no noise.

Strange. Mine happens even if I'm not in the seat and move the seat forward. Seems like a defect. Will bring it to the dealer.

Brought it to the dealer. Service technician took a look.

Cause: Inner seat bolster is rubbing against center console
Correction: Noise is normal for weather conditions

Didn't realize the noise was a feature of the seat until now.
