Hi All,

My driver side headlight flickers a bunch and sometimes dosn't turn on. I turn it off and then on a few times and it eventually fires up. I replaced the bulbs last night with Raxium 6000k lights (which look great), but after about 10 minutes of driving, im noticing the driver side light flicker, and at one point completely turn off. I turn the lights off then back on, and it works for a short time.

Is it safe to say I should buy the ballast? Or is there anything else I can look for?

Swap left & right [bulbs] and see what happens. High probability that one of the new bulbs is bad.

What do you mean by "buy the ballast"? Do they not come with new ballasts? They just use the factory ballast?

I bought all new lights and put them in, and the driver side is still having issues.

Definitely the Ballast or a loose electrical connection, but my money is on the Ballast.

Sorry - I misunderstood; I thought one of the new bulbs was flickering. That said, I would still recommend a L to R swap...but of the ballasts instead of the bulbs.

no worries man. I would do that, but its a real pain to get to those ballasts. I ordered a used replacement, ill pop in and see how that does, hopefully it resolves it.

On a side note, those Raxium 600k bulbs are BRIGHT. Im now that A hole with really bright lights that everyone hates. Yay lol

Interested to see if the ballast fixes your issue. Mine just started doing the exact same thing a couple weeks ago but mine isn't completely going out. Just flickers a lot.

well my replacement ballast didn't work at all so I'm getting a replacement. Cool. But my old ballast still works and it looks kinda beat from the exterior just normal wear. I'm quite sure this will fix it but will update once it's done

Ok I finally got back around to this since the problem started happening more frequently. A replacement ballast new is about $300. So I found a used one on eBay for $70 and got it put in. So far no flickering when headlights turn on and seems to be working as it should. I'll give this some more time though seeing this issue is intermittent but I'm pretty sure issue is resolved.

Year later. The ballast fixed it.
