My driver’s door window has started to drop slightly and then close again multiple times on some drives- doesn’t do it all the time. Dealer can’t trace a fault - any thoughts as to cause?

Pretty common issue for some.
Water can get into a connector in the door and cause it. Sometimes it can just be a software glitch and a reset will work.
Do a fourm search and you'll find several threads on it.

Had this problem about a year ago. Opened up the door panel and opened up connectors on window motor and door latch. Sprayed them out with contact cleaner, then packed them with dielectric grease. No problems since.

Been having the same issue for a while now and now it won't completely close after closing the door, going to try to remove the door panel today and spray out the electrical connector then repack with electrical grease today

Had the same problem but my dealer fixed it. Maybe take it to another dealership if they can't fix it. They said water had gotten in the door and caused a short.

So I went to lowes and picked up some dielectric grease and compressed air can since my window was non stop going up and down by a quarter of an inch even after I locked it and left. When I came back out from Lowes I could still see my window randomly going up and down lol

Anyways, I removed the door trim and disconnected every electrical connector I could find and packed dielectric grease into all the female fittings. (Ther are electrical connections behind the plastic seals on the door behind the trim) Put everything back and my window seems to be good to go now!

Had a similar issue in my F150….This was the fix, and avoided a trip to the dealer. (Obviously this won’t help if you have moisture in there, or an electrical connection issue, but a quick and easy procedure that may avoid removing door panels.)

Thanks for all the thoughts - looks like a common issue! I’ll have the dealer look at the suggestions and repack the connectors.
