Dealer and I have no idea. Maybe the timing component failures were caused by something on top (cams or phasors) and now things will be good with the new long block 🙏. Or maybe I'm the worst manual driver that ever existed.
2020 GT Premium/PP1
1. New short block due to broken crank sprocket at 9k miles
2. Failed timing chain tensionor(s) at 13k miles
3. Failed window regulator
4. New long block due to another crank sprocket failure at 18k miles.
Car currently has 19k miles.
This actually happened again 9k miles after the new short block. Got a new long this time. Let's see how long this one lasts. It's currently got 1k miles on it.
Good job changing your own oil. I'd recommend a magnetic drain plug and inspect your used oil. I have found crank sprocket teeth on 2 separate engines! 100% stock car, never hit the limiter.
I bought it brand new. It's unbelievable. I'm hoping the tick something small. Her is the sound clip I sent them before bringing it back. https://1drv.ms/v/s!AoevPxC2bmErif4JycwyOfqjKaAPpw
And it's already back getting serviced. Started ticking loudly. Not the typewriter tick either according to the dealership. Just my luck. I'm starting to think this car is cursed 😐
Had the same problem but my dealer fixed it. Maybe take it to another dealership if they can't fix it. They said water had gotten in the door and caused a short.
Luckily my dealer is fine with mods to an extent. I had the catch can and h pipe on it the first time they replaced the shortblock and they didn't care. My service writer(also the manager) said they wouldn't void warranty work if I only had "a tune and exhaust" when I asked last time. He then...
Last time they gave me a new short block but I'm going to ask for a long block since this is the exact same problem again. The first time I drove the engine hard but couldn't get it to break. Good idea on the upgraded sprocket. What brand would you recommend? I was literally changing the oil...
Change your own oil and inspect it guys and gals! I found 2 teeth from the crank sprocket in my oil AGAIN after a new short block. This happened to me in Jan. 22

Just had this TSB done on my 2020 GT with 18k miles. Its already had the a new short block put in back around 11k miles due to a broken crank sprocket so I figured what the hell. Oh, and I had to have the passenger window sensors and motor replaced because water got in somehow and shorted it...
Anyone use a sct livewire? I'm about to get a tune and don't care for the RTD devices requiring internet. It would be nice to have something always connected that can show ethanol percentage, flash tunes, etc. similar to the nguage. Not sure if that's possible or not with the livewire?
