You should probably get used to the fact that, at some point, you're going to rub it (as opposed to impacting) on something. I didn't make it through my 300 mile journey home without doing so. I was in San Juan Capistrano and had stopped to take a pee break and rubbed it coming through an intersection that had a slight drainage channel in it. Unless you live in a state and town with perfect roads and transitions, you're going to rub it at some point, IMHO. My plan is to keep a spare on hand.

On another note, can someone take a close up picture of the top their splitter where it goes in to the tabs on the facia? I have a slight gap there and want to make sure the dealer installed it correctly. Thanks.
Did I miss a post? Did you score another car?

I still haven't installed mine. I'm waiting for the R splitter.

Congrats Steve on getting another car. Here's a close up. Nothing is loose without the splitter installed you will be fine.

Thank you! I think that is pretty much what mine looks like. About a 1/4" gap between the bottom lip of the bumper cover and the top of the splitter. If you look in the notches on the top of the splitter (e.g. the one between the "S" and "H" in your photo) can you see the screws that come up at a 45 degree angle?

I don't see those screws at all. The gap is actually pretty tight. I installed mine and those screws were tough to get aligned but would have been easier with a lift.

Yeah, got a blue/white tech pack car in Fresno on Monday. :)

I'll try to do a write-up later today.

If it was at Lithia Ford I looked at it back in December. I really liked the color combo, I offered them $5k over and they wouldn't bite. They said they like the car sitting in the showroom because it brings in a lot of people. Congrats.

Can you snap a picture of the gap between the splitter and the facia between the 'H' and the 'E'? I think mine IS installed incorrectly or they overtightened the screws. Also, can you snap a pic of the head(s) of the screws that hold the splitter to the belly pan towards the rear of the car? I'm starting to suspect that they didn't use the screws that came with the splitter. Thanks in advance. :)

Check out this video. There are only two types of screws provided and it would be difficult to mix them up. One set are heavier machine thread and the other are a coarser sheet metal thread.

They may not have snapped the center portion onto the tabs on the fascia correctly.
The rear most screws have a large torx head on them.

Yeah, that video shows all the fasteners as hex head screws. Mine also has the torx screws towards the belly pan. On the angled fasteners at 45 degrees, up through the access holes towards the front, they either used the wrong fasteners or over-torqed them.

PS If the OP wants me to move this to another thread, I will do so. Sorry. :)

They definately did not engage the center section properly. That gap should not be there.

Yeah, between the stripes you can see a quarter inch slot, and there's a tab on the splitter that should be seated in that slot and it's not. I'm going to take it by the dealer and have them look at it.

Did you install yours with the car on the ground? Or did you jack it?
