Fraudulent sale. Research legal options.. You sure this isn’t disclosed in the fine print?

The splitter is the least of the issues. If they can’t install a splitter, how can you be sure the swap was done correctly?
sounds like it was a private party sale.... generally as-is as far as I know.....

(oops, i was tooooo slow on this one lol)

It was indeed, I kind of wrote this post quickly and failed to be firm with the details.

Editing the original post a bit to make sure things are explained well.

I'm not a lawyer but I think you'd have to take them to court local to them since you did the transaction there.... so unless they are "nice" and refund you or offer to buy it back it may be more trouble than it's worth. especially if you are content with the car....

I really don’t know... Thought you got it from a dealer.

If you think the price was fair and are ok with what you have, I’d get the splitter and associated parts fixed and enjoy the car as is.

Must’ve been some scumbag idiot not to disclose a replaced engine?
Yeah that's on me, I thought I was clear about that in the post but I re-read it and was definitely not. I went back and added some details lol.

Yeah I think all is well in that regard. I am really disappointed that they lied, it was a man and wife. The wife did most of the talking about it, and boy was she...something. I should have walked away but I never had a bad feeling other than her poor attitude. Oh well, life goes on and I got a good price for it. Luckily the engine replacement gave me enough credit to get it replaced!

I got an extremely fair deal to be honest, but they did lie about it. The car was private sale and the bill of sale did not state anything that there was an engine replacement. Just as is. Is there really a chance of anything coming back my way?
Just reread your previous post.

Did you say “full warranty replacement “ as in new car???!!!!!!

Just as in, the long block was replaced under warranty with low compression in cylinders 3 and 6 due to no determined fault of the previous owner.

They're fixing the splitter without charge...I am taking what I can get. The anger is still heavily there.

Even with private party sales, you can still sue the seller if there was something egregious that wasn't mentioned. I count an engine replacement as egregious, cause I imagine you would have not bought it, had you known it had an engine replacement.

If its the same dealer changing the splitter, i would double check they put all the bolts/screw in correctly. My motor spun a bearing and ended up breaking a rod. After the new motor was put in, this exact situation happened to me on the highway. 70mph and the splitter came loose. They ended up replacing it all. I also realized they used pushpins in places that required bolts.

It won't be, it will be the one here in Chicago, I am going to make sure to check their work as well.

I find it interesting that so many folks will say that having an engine replaced doesn't impact the value of the car. Yet here we have a real-world example of someone that would NOT have bought the car knowing the engine was replaced.

Sucks that the seller was dishonest. Glad the dealer is taking care of your splitter.

Absolutely agreed, most people do not care but it's something I wanted to avoid. I cant believe it didnt show on the carfax and I foolishly believed Ford that they could not see the information. There are a lot of factors that can go into an engine replacement. Aka I believe this car was beat and that's the cause.

Lessons learned to be applied to buying cars in the future.

Contact the original dealer with the VIN and verify maintenance in their system.

If buying a car out of state, give myself an extra day to have the car fully reviewed.

Read further into the "quirks" of cars, even as an owner of a GT350 previously, I was unaware of the front splitter issue.

Very the fucking battery cover is not off the car.
