Hello Steezygt350,

My name is Deysha, with Ford Customer Service. Let’s get this looked into for you. Please PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number. I’ll loop in the customer service manager for your area.

The same thing happened to me. I have had the car for 10 days, 8 of which with no front splitter. I called my dealer and bounced between the service department, then parts department, then back to service. They mentioned I should have some evidence that it was them. At that point I just ordered a new splitter which should arrive tomorrow. If this is such a big problem, maybe it is best to have Ford proper install them and replace the few damaged in transit versus what seems to be an epidemic with having them improperly installed by the dealer. This has been my very first impression with Ford.

This seems to be a pretty big issue. Also, since a rep from Ford is being very helpful, i think this should be a sticky to help others on the forum. Lastly, this may get some type of urgency with the dealers. Just my 2 cents.

I am glad someone from Ford is reviewing these posts. My front splitter is installed wrong and it didn't fall off but the install tech drove the screws in so hard and crooked the screw points almost penetrated the front bumper cover and created bumps and ridges that look horrible. I am waiting for my dealer's response on how this is going to fixed? the dealer wanted to keep the car for a few weeks if not more until they figure out how to even fix it. I recommended to the dealer that they order a new bumper cover. Get it painted. Let paint harden up a bit. Then call me to bring in car and then we replace new bumper with old swapping out all the other parts. This process shouldn't take more than a day or two. Just my two cents

My splitter was incorrectly installed when the car was delivered to me. It was very hard to see, but thanks to this forum I saw the issue.

To be fair the splitter itself was very securely mounted, and I didn't think it would come loose and this car will never see a track or very high speeds anyway.

Fast forward 1000miles of driving - the splitter loosened itself almost 1/2"! I was very surprised and took it back for warranty. I was helped by the manager and shop foreman and they took care of me. No issues on that front.

Here's a reference picture after 1000 miles

Sorry pic is sideways. The gap was almost my whole index finger.

Thanks to the forum I had a list of pre-checks that I did prior to taking delivery. I had all the issues added to the duebill and the dealer took care of them all.

Like everyone here, my splitter was not set in the tabs correctly on the passenger side. The problem is that the techs at these dealers are not trained on the differences from the GT to the GT350s and they just rush.

Dealer did fix all of my issues with no problems. Hope you get this resolved quickly and Ford does step up and take care of this for you.

I changed my own oil at 1000 miles and confirmed that my splitter was not installed correctly. All of the 45 degree bolts were in fact missing and it was not properly seated. My dealer agreed to reinstall it but didn't want to see the install video. Later they called asking for the link to the video so they could send it to the body shop they sent the car to. It was eventually taken care of the same day and fortunately didn't come off.

Mine looks the same but like you said, very secure.

Today on I-75 another driver pulled me over to let me know something was dragging under the car.....it was the Front Splitter hanging from 1 end screw.

I did not hit anything and there was absolutely no damage or marks to the front of the splitter or the bumper. There is a lot of road rash now to the bottom of the splitter from being dragged.

I'm lucky it didn't come all the way lose and damage somebody's car or cause an accident.

It appears there were no screws or just 1 (there a screw clip on one tab) hold the front of the splitter on.

To make matters worse when I pulled over to try and get the one end screw off I was bitten by about 50-100 fire ants while under the front of the car. Left leg and right hand are all swollen now and ON FIRE.

Car has 1950 miles and just 4 weeks old :(
and I didn't buy it locally because they didn't have one I wanted (Ruby Red)

Ford representative, hope your listening.

They have known about this "issue" for quite some time. Not happening until something real bad happens ($$$$).

Make sure you you get it fixed proper. When mine came off at highway speeds, it ripped the belly pan too (ended up costing over 1k to replace everything).

As a motorcycle rider too, this is the sort of thing that freaks me out. Running over a slippery splitter would no doubt put me down (possibly forever).

Ford needs to suck it up and properly install at the factory. QA isn't happening at the dealerships. Some may be damaged in transit, but the problem is systemic enough to warrant raising the cost of every gt350 by a few dollars to avoid this.

Who paid the 1 K ?
I did.

A Ford rep here filed an "incident" with the dealer, which amounted to nothing. This is seriously why people are saying check the splitter install before taking delivery. I legitimately thought this was a one-off until I joined the forums and found multiple threads on the issue.

Deysha, I unfortunately had my front splitter incorrectly installed by the dealer that sold me my R. When I contacted them and informed them of the mishap they did absolutely nothing. The dealer is 2.5 hours from my home.

I took the car to my routine servicing dealer who said they couldn't repair it under warranty due to the prior dealer's crap job so I ended up having to pay for the labor and missing hardware.

I'm at a loss how to understand just how shabby the service departments are for such a world class car. I'm not upset enough to leave Ford but it does leave a sour taste in my mouth.

Good luck. You should be able to confirm that the four screws if I remember correctly that are going in at roughly a 45 degree angle from underneath back towards the bumper were never installed. This happened to me on my drive home on the highway from the dealership the day I purchased my car. Unfortunately I was not a member on this site so I did not know of this potential issue. Ford made an install video. It's on YouTube.
