Happy Holidays to everyone on Mustang6g. This is my first post on this forum. I purchased a 22 Gt PP1 (stock) and would like to purchase some wheels & tires. The car is not a daily driver. I do like to visit various car shows. Some could be 500 miles from my home. I really like the Weld Laguna wheels. I would like to run 17x10 in the rear with 305/45/17 nittos 555r’s or MT E-Streets.
I can’t decide for the fronts. I like the 18x5 wheel with the 28x6.0x18 MT Sporatman Sr. I have never had a small skinny on any of my cars. Not sure how they will drive? Will it be better to use something like and 18x7, 18x8 instead. Not hitting the track just a street car.

I really like the look of the beadlock. Are they recommended for the street? I know I don’t make the power for them.

@CobraJet69 i run skinnys on the front of my cars and they are all street/ track cars. but i also dont drive it 500 miles. they will do fine on the street if you give you self more stopping time and dont corner as hard. but if you will never take it to the track you would be better off with like an 18x7/8. Plenty of guys run that set up. It will still look nice. As for the beadlocks, they are not needed until you are pushing high enough hp to spin the tire on the wheel. But dang they look good! i can help out with either combo that you decide to go with. I would pair them with a mickey s/r or street comp for the front and with the et street r or ss rear. could do nittos as well.

You really need 11” wheels to run 305
10” is for 285
At least that is for optimum handling, obviously with skinny in front, handling is not your top priority
So 305 will work on 10

Mickey Thompson 305/45/17 et street r and street ss are made to fit 9.5"-11.5" wheels, ideal fit is 10".

?????
You’re funny, I specifically stated for optimum handling..
You’re talking about a drag tire..
Handling and drag tire is an oxymoron…

The post was about drag wheels and tires. Why are you talking about handling? The OP specifically mentions Nitto 555R's and MT et streets....drag radials.

You’re right, I should have been more careful in my statement
Obviously drag tires require narrower rims than street/track tires
