Yea, I have never used skinnies..I don't like the idea of daily driving it with only a 6 inch contact patch....
It's safer than you think when you're responsible knowing they are on. It's not like the old 4.5" Weld skinny days at all.

Still..... does it feel like you're driving on 2 spare tires up front? Genuinely curious.... might have to go to a meet and test drive someones car who is using them.

sorry, I mis typed. I mean 155... I guess It could be 155 to 185...
I believe those sizes are temp tires. Just about the same cost, but rated for only 50mph.

The Ghia 155/80/15 (VW) tire is also speed rated for only 86mph, but we took them to 140mph+ every weekend. It's all about heat/time. :)

Good luck passing tech with space saver tires though.

It's a passenger tire. It passes every time. Our track is strict, and it goes through.

There's really no advantage of running them, unless you have some laying around. To buy new, they are expensive.

Haha! I also ran spare donuts with ET Street bias ply tires on my ‘04 Mach 1 at the drag strip. I consistently clicked off 11.70’s on a 100 shot with that tire setup, but the bOOTy would jiggle all the way down the track on every pass. It was the mix of radials with the bias ply tire that caused it (an uneasy feeling, but I got used to it after a handful of passes).
