1k to order, plan another 5k down. hard to beat the financing of 2.29% for 6 years. My investments will return more then that, so why cash them out when I can use someone elses money.

I put $11k in cash down. But I didn't have to put anything down to order it. I'm surprised on the number of folks here who had to do that.

The highlights;
$500 to order the car
$7k down + trade in and the dealer already wrote the deal with the value of my car. I wanted to make sure he had some skin in the game and didn't dawdle. (It should be mentioned that my trade is 12 years old and way over 100k so it's really isn't likely to vary too much.)
My wife is a teacher and the credit union is tough to beat for the note on the remainder. As it was mentioned above it's almost foolish to tie up the money when the rates can be gotten so low. My last car was a 60 month 0% deal and it was free money... leaving the cash in a CD yielded income vs. buying the car outright and losing that interest. Currently Ally does 2% on a 5 year CD and I can get a lower rate on the note for the car but probably not enough to make it worth it.

Will pay in full when it arrives. Only way to go if you can do it. (Recently came into a small inheritance)
