I was at the local dealer today looking at a 14 MY, and I spoke with the new car manager who told me he placed an order for himself in the order bank system. He also said that the orders sitting in the order banks wouldn't be placed until August 13th. I guess that means they are in limbo until the order fulfillment goes live later. Guess we'll see!

Production starts on 81 (8/3? one of those). They'll be pulling orders well before the 13th.
FWIW my dealer said they only submit orders each Wednesday. :shrug: I'm checking on it again tomorrow morning just to be sure.

Did you realize that the post you quoted was from a year ago (which had very different production dates than this year).
