Hello!

Hope you can help out with this one, I have a 2015 Ecoboost Premium with PP.

This has happened a few times, but when it does it happens for a few days straight on both doors.

Basically, I turn the car on and the window and mirror buttons won't work. Lock/unlock and seat/mirror presets work fine. If it's night, those buttons will not show any light.

Turning on and off does nothing to help, after maybe 5 min driving they come online and everything works perfect, before this time it has been maybe 2 months with no issues.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Do the locks work with the fob? With the exterior touch button?
Do you have the memory function?
Could be oh so many things. A bad fuse, a loose connection somewhere a broken wire, a bag ground, a bad door module or a bad BCM even that could cause it.
More information can only help.

Hi!

Locks always work with the fob with no issues, exterior touch works, memory function is available and working at all times.

The only buttons that present this issue are:

- drivers side window up/down, mirror selection and mirror arrows

- passenger side window up/down

These buttons have no backlight to them when the issue is present, with the exception of the passenger side. After 5 minutes or so running, the backlight comes on and functionality is restored on all affected buttons.

Once they work, they will do so for the rest of the day, unless the car is shutdown for a long period of time (3-4 hours).

I'll include the wiring diagram from my '18 manual. It may be useful, it may not. I know quite a bit changed between '15 & '18.
Since it sometimes works I'd venture it's not a fuse. It could still be a failing switch, drivers door module, ground or BCM.
If you have access to a known good switch panel you could try that as suggested above.
If not it will probably require some fairly sophisticated troubleshooting. If you can DIY electric/electronics the wiring diagram may help.
Has there been any work done on the car recently? If so it might give you an area to start at.
Anyway, good luck.

Is the battery good? Hook her up to a battery tender, let her overnight and see if the morning does the same things, looks like the module shuts down until there is enough voltage.

Also check for DTCs in all the car, check for module voltage to isolate a faulty ground (they will show as some modules reporting less voltage than others).

If you have appropriate diagnostic tools I'll download a new configuration to both driver door module, passenger door module and body control module via FDRS. This will also updates the modules calibration if it needs to.
