I'm one of those guys that likes a fast quiet car. obviously the 18 Mustang GT is anything but quiet. does anybody have an option for a quiet exhaust system that doesn't choke the car to death? My classic car has a fairly quiet system and still makes over 500 hp which makes for an awesome sleeper. i'd love to find something like that for my Mustang

Do you have the active system? It's very quiet in quiet mode.

I actually run that way most of the time. I hate making noise if I'm not at WOT.

I've been curious how the non-active compares to the active in normal and quiet modes. Most people seem to complain it is too quiet. But loud does not mean fast.

Track mode will get you the occasional crack and pops. It can be quite obnoxious, lol.

Have you looked at getting a retrofit? Other than the wiring it shouldn't be too complicated.

I'd rather have a system that doesn't rely on valves and motors. my 2013 Gt was an acceptable volume for me. it appears they really stepped up the vroom vroom for 2018..lol

A 15-17 stock GT exhaust with quad tips welded on. It's quieter than the 13 GT though. They made the 18 non active appropriately loud for a Mustang IMO. Have you tried removing the sound tube to lessen interior volume? It's pretty significant. I've heard two 18s without the active and it's definitely not loud outside, just noticeable. The 15-17 stock exhaust is terribly quiet.

If I could get my GT to be Cadillac or Lexus kind of quiet I would remove the GT and 5.0 badges and have a little fun.

I'm between old and young but it's always the older guys that want to to rev it in track mode.

I had a stock 15 GT exhaust and traded for an 18 GT with standard exhaust. Even though it is louder it doesn't seem to attract "unwanted" attention when I'm playing. Still very quiet like the 15 on long trips. It does sound good at autocrosses compared to the 15 without being at risk for sound violation.

That's the 15-17 stock exhaust...

I with you OP. A stock 18 GT appears to have plenty of volume for me. My 14 was offroad x through bullet style mufflers. I’m to old for that shit now. Lol.
It must be in the blood. If I could run LT to Purple Hornies with elbowed exits I would.

Like everyone else said the 15-17 exhaust is what your looking for it's a dead quiet stock exhaust, not sure if it can fit on a 18 though because it's not quad tips.

Furthermore are you really saying the 18 mustang stock exhaust is to loud? It's has a nice grumble but that's about it, it's by no means loud. I consider it quiet and it has not turned any heads for me. Your not going to find a exhaust quieter than stock that won't choke the car to death considering it's already choked and restricted from the factory.
