POWERSTORM FORD 5.0L BILLET OIL PUMP GEARSWish vendors would put up a proper link to their stuff instead of saying "go find it"!
My guess would be you are fine until you go with boost. Once you are boosted you could be on borrowed time. But there are a few people locally that are running fully stock motors with boost. At what power level do you recommend this being done. My car is lightly modified.
More than a couple for sure.My guess would be you are fine until you go with boost. Once you are boosted you could be on borrowed time. But there are a few people locally that are running fully stock motors with boost.
If I'm reading this correctly then do this upgrade if you plan on going past bolt ons ( intake, exhaust, headers ) and tune.We recommend installing the new OPG post mods more intense than tune, cai and exhaust. That ~450 range is toeing the line, honestly.
How do you determine a worn pump? Is that a visual inspection, or estimated based on number of miles? However, we do not recommend putting new gears in a worn pump.
I've been quoted $1500, $1300 and $800. Mine Gears and TS are going in Thursday...What is the typical labor charge for something like this? I know this requires pulling the engine obviously.
So considering installing headers somewhat requires some movement of the engine (so I hear). I wonder if that would be an optimal time to have it done. As in, since the engine is coming out, it would also allow easier/best time to drop the headers on as well since it's there. Might be something I look into when I decide to go that route if it saves some money.I've been quoted $1500, $1300 and $800. Mine Gears and TS are going in Thursday...
