I think the minimum is a drive in bay type touchless if one feels lazy unless you drive a rusty piece of crap then don't care.
They have invented these long time ago.:headbonk:
this. some of them have the big air dryers, some don't. either way I have a stack of clean microfibers (need to get a real waffle drying towel) and a quick detailer to dry with. I like the quick detailer because i feel like it gives you some extra lubrication in case the wash left anything behind

I never liked drive through car washes, in part because they don't clean wheels properly. At present, I bucket wash my car at a coin car wash. $1.5 to fill bucket and spray the car with plain water. Add favorite soap, or soap & wax combo. Wash. Another $1.5 to rinse.

$3 and 10 minutes. Depart. Probably works best during off-peak.

towel dry optional
wax optional

Deep Reflections in LG does a really nice job for detailing and regular washing.
I'll have to check them out.

I handwash my car every week, whoever said that washing your car in California is misinformed. Every city has their own regulations due to the drought. There are certain times where we are restricted from using water and other times we're allowed....to be honest, I wash my car whenever I want.

Cops have better things to do than respond to a person washing their car:lol:
The "cops" will not respond to something like this. The reward is when you get a citation in the mail with a $160 fine from the city. In my case it would be the city of San Jose or the San Jose Water Company. Not sure who stated this "law" is California statewide?

Spends $50k+ on a car
Takes it to a $5 automatic wash.

Srs? If you're too lazy to wash it yourself at least pay for a mobile auto detailer to come clean it for you while you sit at home in your monogrammed robe and browse the stock market, you know you can afford it.

/previous detailer
I can't afford a mobile auto detailer... I spent all my money on a $50k car! ;)

oh and those guys would need to use recycled water or "gray water" anyway. :(

Not sure what city you live in, certainly not the case for all of us

And with your average nosy do-good for the environment type neighbors found in just about every California city, I can totally see violators being reported for excessive use

man it must suck having water restrictions. We live at the confluence of 4 major water ways.

I pay $60 a month for unlimited water and that included my trash pick up.

When I wash, i dont even bother turning the hose off when not using it. just lay it in the grass and water the grass or et it run into the street.

And very high crime, high state taxes, regulations, pollution, strangling congestion, long lines, high prices...and you get to pay 9% sales tax on top of high prices for everything. It's a freakin' zoo down there.

I grew up in California, went to 'SC, lived in MB. It ain't all that. But you keep hanging' on to that weather dude lol...

I live in Oceanside, CA. We can only water the landscaping two specified days a week. I can wash my car any time I want but must use a positive shut-off nozzle. We pay 8% sales tax in O'side. Hopefully, El Nino pays off as promised so that is all relaxed (except sales tax of course) and I can go fishing in the Sierra this spring/summer.

For you folks that aren't real familiar with California, these will explain most things to you.

Here's a map that will also help to clarify things.

I bought my GT350 in "Cow Death Camp" California, which is very close to "vegetables". I then drove 5 hours through "mostly something for driving through", "texas", up and over "mountains in the other direction" and in to "sigalert", "republicans", "classified" and finally arriving in "north shamu"
