Camera microphones pick up all the mechanical noises too (injectors, header pulses, etc). I think my GT's engine is pretty quiet, so next time I fire it up I might record it to see what it sounds like. On camera, it will probably sound worse than in real life is my thought.

Sounds normal to me. Mine sounds just like that.

There is a TSB for an exhaust leak on the drivers side. I believe it is for cars made before Jan 2015.

I know exactly what you are hearing, mine does it too. I can only really hear it if I'm next to another car or wall really. Also it only does it when idle is at it's lowest point when the car is fully warmed up. I have came to the conclusion that it is perfectly normal.

I had a chance to record my GT today using a small key chain 'spy camera' which has a very sensitive microphone, but crappy video. Sorry about jumping all around, but I was trying to get sound clips all around the engine, both from the top and from underneath (front and both sides behind the front tires).

I consider this engine pretty damn quiet while listening to it in person in the garage where there is no ambient noises to interfere. These sound clips where also done inside the garage. Did one at cold start-up/initial warm-up and also one after I got back from driving it ~15 miles when it was fully hot.

Note - stock exhaust on my GT.

great vids, i love these types of vids so people can reference what they think is abnormal, to normal sounds.

Thats how mine started. And one engine block later, still not fixed, its a lemon. Sorry to hear that, and good luck.

Here is a video of my ADVANCED tick. I will jump back in here and attach from cell phone.

EDIT: Upload not working, might be an issue with the forum. I will try again later.

Thanks a lot man now I'm paranoid lol. I was going to put on my headers and tune, now that may have to wait until I do more research.

Granted yours is not nearly as loud as mine, but I hear the same faint ticking as mine did. Thankfully I caught it prior to tuning it and doing aftermarket as I had planned for. I was literally waiting for 5k miles before doing the work, the monsters ugly head surfaced around 1k miles. Keep checking back for the video.

P.S. There are a lot of internet "mechanics" on the forum, keep an eye out. I was told it was normal and possibly an exhaust leak...
