Does anyone know how to turn off the horn when you walk away from the car?

The one big pet peeve of mine for this car is when the car is on and you get out and walk away with the keys, it's blares two honks and it's really fucking loud and it drives me crazy. Is there a way to turn this off?

Only way to avoid is to hold the keys in hand up by the top/rear part of the window and it won't honk.

I read the thread title and was going to suggest a cold teaspoon, or close your eyes and think of Hillary.

Right with ya...

Not sure what the neighbors hate more, the horn or me cussing after.

Sucks sort but I have just gotten used to leaving the door open when I walk away, it doesn't honk then. Weird, but I'm usually just doing something close by anyway.

It gets me every time too. I get out to close the door, get something out of the garage, or whatever and it's really loud. startles me and I start cursing real loud. I will say the horn on our car is loud as hell

I just leave the FOB in the car if I plan on getting out while it's running.

I hate this too but my exhaust is 100x louder, so I bank on my neighbors not noticing when the horn says "HI! HI!" because my exhaust has already woken them up. It is very annoying though.

I just can't settle with the idea of leaving the key-fob in the car while it's running. For some reason it makes me uncomfortable to not have the fob with me while the car is on.

Yeah Jason @ www.fordpimods.com has programmed a fix for this annoying problem.

It does require IDS (Ford diagnostic software) to install but it works like a charm.

So annoying. Part of my morning routine is starting the car, and making my coffee before I head out the door. Just to give it a slight, 30 second warm-up...and the damned double honk gets me every time.
