Does anyone know how to turn off the horn when you walk away from the car?

So, there was an investigation into stupid people that pulled their car into the garage, did not turn the car off and people in the house died from the exhaust of the running car, thus the beeps to remind you that you are not in the car but it is running.

Honest, I did not make this up.

The Mustang (and probably many other newer cars with push button start) will turn off after idling for 20~30 minutes. The car in the link you gave did not have that feature.

Only way is to leave the key in the car.

Owner's manual doesn't stipulate one way or the other ... just says the engine will turn off after 30 minutes of idling. Guess you'd have to try it without the FOB in the car to see if it still holds true.

My point is that, the horn honk has a purpose.

Sucks sort but I have just gotten used to leaving the door open when I walk away, it doesn't honk then. Weird, but I'm usually just doing something close by anyway.
Yep. I do this too. Got tired of the car honking at me when I park at the mailbox cluster in our neighborhood, so I just gently close the door all the way but don't make it latch. Then you can walk away without it chirping at you.

People bitch about the smallest fucking things. No one is happy unless they are complaining about things I guess.

Or people just like discussing things, and it's not the world's biggest issue. Maybe looking to see if anyone knows a way to fix something that's a minor annoyance. But you're right, we should close the forums down...lol.

I was just thinking about this yesterday when I pulled up to the Laundromat, stepped out, the car honked and everyone stared at me like I did it on purpose. :(

if you don't shut your door all the way it doesn't honk.

I HATE this feature so F@#$%ING MUCH! because when I pull out of my driveway in the morning, I have to get out of my car and close my driveway gates. I always try to leave the door open, but it usually closes itself because I'm on an incline. The damn honk gives me a mini rage inside of me
