Just wondering if leaving active exhaust in quiet mode all the time, puts back pressure on engine..
Thanks. For all replies

No, the AE is actively changing as you drive. Its not fully closed in quiet mode all the time, at redline in quiet mode its 60% open actually.

Ford did the math on that and came up with this:

This is quiet mode^

They also set the absolute minimum position of the AE to prevent backpressure.

This look up table is called backpressure control:

So to answer the question: no risk at all, if quiet mode is what you prefer you can leave it in quiet mode all day long.

Does this table apply to both 5.0 and Ecoboost with active exhaust?

I would assume yes, but I have only explored GT cal files.

In general seeing that they put logic in place on the 5.0 to prevent backpressure, I would assume that either the logic also exists on the EB, or if it doesn't exist, that it isn't needed.
