The only difference between a no-tune and tune required intake is the diameter of the MAF section of the intake. If you run a larger diameter MAF than stock, the ECU will need to be properly calibrated (as the larger diameter will read a lower voltage despite total airflow remaining the same).I wasted my money getting a non-tune CAI. Doing it all over again I would only have bought a tune required CAI, that is what I have now and it made a difference.
If you dont want to tune the car I would just get a better drop in filter like the K&N.
There is nothing special abut a tune-required intake that produces more power over a no-tune required, just the MAF housing diameter.
