They are.

I bet 90% of the people who bought the PP out there, not just the enthusiast on the forum here which are the minority, bought the PP to say they have it or thought it was "cool" rather than they push the car anywhere near where the PP is needed. The stock GT can handle a lot as is compared to prior years.
The standard brakes are similar to Brembo's design, but they are not Brembo..........and
"In addition to the upgraded brakes, both EcoBoost and GT Performance Packs get retuned springs, bushings, and monotube rear dampers, a thicker rear sway bar, and a K-brace connecting the rear strut towers to the bulkhead. The ABS, stability control, and power steering systems are also retuned, the interior gains extra center gauges, and extra engine cooling capability is added for better durability on the track. Additionally, EcoBoost Performance Pack cars have a 3:55:1 final drive ratio, and GT Performance Pack cars have a 3:73:1 final drive ratio with a Torsen differential."

In the end OP, it's up to you to decide if it's worth it or not

I don't think the PP is necessary. I enjoy the 3.31's more than I did 3.73s on my old car. I took the money i didn't spend and put it back into the car in the mods I wanted. I will say I wish my car had the brakes that the PP has, but the regular ones are more than enough for daily driving.

So is a V6...people always compare to what's "good enough for DD" I'm not judging at all but when you rationalize it that way you open up every aspect about the car for the same thinking. My 93 Honda Accord is good enough for DD. But I still have my Mustang...

We just need to except there is no right or wrong answer. People want what they want for their own circumstances.

I'll never understand the people that post on these forums "should i do this" or "do i need these/this". Hell, we don't know what you want or need; only you can decide that. Do what works for YOU what meets YOUR wants or needs. I mean, what you SHOULD do if your so indecisive is send me your money and i'll make some decisions real quick!!!:lol::lol:

Sorry, that's why I said I'm not judging. I know what you meant. I just pointed out it can be taken much further. I'm used to using that same line with my wife when she asks why I do certain things haha. She will say, "You don't neeed that!" And I turn it around and say we don't NEED a lot of things. Like she wanted a Titanium package in her Escape...Haha

But she got a Titanium...

I am planning on getting a GT and then lowering it with some type of suspension and getting aftermarket wheels. Is it still worth it to order with the performance package if I plan to replace these components anyways. I feel like i would be throwing 2500 away that I could use for the parts I want to buy... thoughts?
PP is worth it for sure 100% just be ready to throw the tires in the garbage after you drive off the lot because they suck ass.... get something better to put on those 19's

I would say worth it... The brakes alone have saved me from 2 accidents within 6 months. I don't speed (at least not over 80) since I feel like the 3.73's give you worse gas milage. Maybe its just fluff, but I've read of some members here getting between 26-30mpg with their 5.0's on the freeway, but I haven't gotten much over 24mpg with cruise control at 65 on a trip from Orange County to San Diego and back.

My PP can throw into a circular on/off ramp at 55 without so much as a peep from the tires. I don't have the balls to try any faster, but my old Audi AWD would have had something to say on that same turn, that's for sure.
