I am planning on getting a GT and then lowering it with some type of suspension and getting aftermarket wheels. Is it still worth it to order with the performance package if I plan to replace these components anyways. I feel like i would be throwing 2500 away that I could use for the parts I want to buy... thoughts?

Yes worth it. The brakes alone are worth it.

Need? For a daily driver no.

You can upgrade the brakes for under $1,000 if that's what you want. Strut tower brace $199. If you are going to replace the suspension and wheels anyways it'd make sense to upgrade what you want with PP parts and customize how you want it.

You're going to spend $2,500 to toss parts to go put $3-4k in it more.

Plenty of ways to get vent gauges per users here; and not expensive either. Or use a N-gauge (even without tuning the car just as a gague) which can display it digitally that fits in 1 vent.

Not saying PP is a bad deal, but not NEEDED; especially if someone is going to dump money on wheels/suspension and toss other PP parts. I can put together an equal (PP radiator, Brembos and strut tower brace), and better aftermarket parts in some areas (sways, springs, wider wheels for traction and better tires etc), performing car than the PP for around the same cost (without the oh chin spoiler or useless gauges arguments- the actual car performance)

The standard brakes were performance pack brakes from a few minutes ago. If you plan to actually race the car I can see wanting the brembos but if it's a street car and your doing it up to your liking I'd just get the standard GT.

I read that the standard GT 4 piston brakes are actually Brembo. PP has 6 piston Brakes. Obviously better if you are actually out there pushing the car 95%+ but the 4 piston breaks are actually really good too.

I would say the LSD makes it a pretty good deal.

They are.

I bet 90% of the people who bought the PP out there, not just the enthusiast on the forum here which are the minority, bought the PP to say they have it or thought it was "cool" rather than they push the car anywhere near where the PP is needed. The stock GT can handle a lot as is compared to prior years.

I definitely bought the base PP to be cool - get the most authentic performance oriented GT I could. Don't regret it one bit, even though the 3.73 is pretty terrifying for a novice manual driver. I think those gears are a big factor for liking the car or not. I still wonder if I'm doing it wrong considering I rev up to 4k on 1st and 2nd even when trying to ease out of a stoplight and keep up with traffic.

Everyone does or doesn't buy the PP for their own reasons. And so should the OP. For me I went for Premium only on my 13. I said the same thing every one else said. That I will just upgrade to those things later... I never did... And I wanted them. When you break it down the PP up front is a great buy. You will make out better paying for it up front and selling the wheels and whatever suspension components you plan on changing right away. And still walk away with strut brace, K brace, larger radiator, oil cooler, larger front splitter, gauges, Torsen, AND the brakes...All for around 1500.00 depending on when and how much you sold wheels and suspension for. This time around I went premium and PP. Just IMO.

I would further add to this that the people who do run at 95% (aka track guys) would rip it all out and put real mods in most of the PP place. BUT, the PP is great for people who don't want to mod, keep the car stock and its resale high.

That's exactly what I did when I got my 14. Hated myself after a few months for not getting the track pack and just couldn't justify buying everything separate and piecing it all together.Brakes alone are with it imo even tho like everyone has said most of us will never push our cars to the absolute limit. This time I got the PP and recaros-exactly how I wanted the car.
