hello guys, I just purchased 2017 gt350 with 853 miles, now got 950 miles driving back home. oil life shows 41% and wondering if its necessary for a change. Thanks!
As others have said, definitely change it.

For the oil life to be at 41% with only 950 miles, some wonky things have been going on. Extended idling? Very high RPM operation? Maybe it was never reset to 100% life in the first place? Too many unknowns here...

It's been almost 2000 miles since my oil change and my OLM is at 75%.

Make sure, whether you do it yourself or have it done, that you verify the OLM has been set to 100% after the oil & filter change.

The oil life monitor on the Mustang (most Fords, actually) counts down from 100 to 0 over a one-year period. A reading of 41 percent will happen in a little over seven months after the last oil change even if it's not driven at all. The oil in the OP's car could be brand new - it's just there's no way to know.

I drive my Fords, so my countdowns are based on use, not time. But that's interesting to know. Also why I suggested that the OP change the oil because of the unknowns.

The OLM on my '14 GT was exactly 1% oil life deduction for every 100 miles of travel - like clockwork.

The GT350 seems to be a little more aggressive with 2,000 miles deducting 25% of the oil life - but that's close to what the manual calls for with "Normal" use (5,000 to 7,500 miles between oil changes).

You're right, of course - it does go down from use as well as down from time. I was only thinking of the low mileage on this car, where it's likely that the 41% count was the passage of time. If you drive your car enough, it'll go down from usage as well as or instead of time - and it goes down faster the harder you use it. For the first time in ages I ran my GT350 enough this year to get it down from use and not just from time - I changed the oil at 11% after 6500 miles.

Liqui Moly is big in the European car scene. It's used by the big name brands like BMW, MB and Audi. In my experience it always has had a good rep.

Use it in my 2017 Golf R. Good stuff with a good rep in the Euro's, like you said. Motul is another big one.
