I've just received a new, sealed Mishimoto radiator and I'm a little underwhelmed by it's quality. Having never bought a radiator before I don't know if this is normal or i'm just expecting too much.

First off the brackets are bent

Secondly one of the inlets is bent, looks like it was dropped

and lastly the amount of bent fins

I'm pretty certain it's not supposed to look like that. Have FedEx been using it as a football?

The rad comes in a sealed plastic bag, with large pieces of foam at each end of the box.

That has difinitely been damaged during transit. The brackets could be straightened easily, the fins can be realigned with a small bradle or screwdriver, the inlet could be straightened using sockets on an extension bar as an way of rounding the hole. BUT you shold not have to. SEND IT BACK.

This is what the foam covers

Return it, pronto, it looks fucked. Most finned items (Like intercoolers) should be covered in cardboard for shipping. That radiator needs to go back, too many issues like it was threw around a warehouse for fun.

Send it back then go here https://www.aaronradiator.co.uk/index.php?p=home

Custom built intercoolers radiators, heater matrices, anything you want, copied, or built from scratch, repaired, upgraded, you name it they will do it and for an extremely reasonable rate.

Edit:
Just as an addition a friend I recommended to go there had a brand new custom built high flow full performance radiator made for his E60 V10 M5 cost him ÂŁ184.

Agree, the fins are easily damaged in transit so wouldn't stress about that, its more the inlet/outlet pipe being damaged that would worry me as it could cause a poor seal if not fixed correctly. Send it straight back, its not good enough, again the brackets are easily fixed but doesnt look like the strongest metal, so if you bend it back, will that cause a long term weakness with the metal being bent in at least two directions already?

Returning it might be a little difficult, I bought it from American Muscle and had it shipped via Stackry, so finding someone to accept the blame will be difficult and returning it costly.

I'm having to painstakingly bend everything back into place

I didn't buy it from Mishimoto UK because they didn't bothered to reply to my query.

Yes they are but they won't cover the return postage if you didn't use their international shipping service. Luckily I found this out when I was looking to return some dreadful tints and the postage only cost me ÂŁ4.

My Mishimoto air intake was also built like utter wank when it arrived.

The red inlet pipe? In person it was a cheap pipe wrapped in red tape and given a clear coat. Looked horrid.
Air box? Cheap steel that was bent to shit in transit.
There wasn't even any packing material in the box! It was all loose so every part, even the cone, was dented!
