I want to fit a small spoiler to my 'vert and so will probably need to fit a stubby if it's going to clear the stock aerial. I see we can get stubby antennas from the US but I'm concerned about DAB reception. Do our cars use the boot aerial for DAB reception too? If so, has anyone fitted one and still been able to receive DAB broadcasts?

Thanks, but those are made for the US market and so I don't think they have the DAB stuff in them.
From my understanding of DAB, the aerial needs to have been designed with DAB in mind in order for it to not ruin the reception.
Happy to be proved wrong though from someone in the UK/EU who has fitted one.

So far I've tried 2 stubby antennas from Amazon that are supposidly DAB. Both have ruined the DAB reception to the point it's unusable.
Back to my stock one again.

Length is the issue - DAB wavelength is 1.5 meters ish. You need an aerial that is a fraction of that so 75cm long or 37.5cm long etc and every time you shorten it you will lose signal strength. Most fixed head DAB aerials are a solitary wire in the rear window these days (maybe in pairs) to the correct length.
