For those that have switched between aftermarket mufflers, does each brand/model require a different length cut of the existing exhaust pipe? So, if I replace my Roush with a Borla, would I have to make a new cut or even add pipe? Or is the bend and length the same for all aftermarket axle-backs, letting you just unbolt the previous axle-back and bolt on the new one without any additional modifications to the factory exhaust. Sorry if this is confusing.

confusing only because you some how think that every muffler is the same and can bolt right up to everything else

most axle backs are going to be diff from each other i had roush then went with a company called legato.. they gave a lot more pipe then the roush so i had to make a cut again towards the front of the car right after the pumpkin

No they're not same. When I cut my dronemasters off which were welded and bolted up my borla s type, it's not a perfect fit

I need to prob take it in to a shop and have them fix it. I've got a slight bit of rub on the valence on rh side

Thanks. That's what I assumed. I know mufflers vary in size, but I don't know why the companies would not make the overall length and bend of the axle-backs uniform, so people don't need to make new cuts or add new pipe with each change. Sort of like the s197 set-up.

Thanks. I've been considering going with something slightly quieter in the winter, and changing back to the Roush in the summer if it meant I could just unbolt the Roush and bolt up the 2nd exhaust, but I guess it's not that easy.

2015Etrac, here's a pic of what I mean. Not sure if this is standard across all but I'd imagine so

Thanks. It's unfortunate they don't make them all a standard size. I realize all mufflers are slightly different, but they could compensate with the exhaust pipe length to make them all a uniform length. It would be so much easier for us s550 guys without having to cut or add pipe every time we want to install a new axle-back.

I have borla s types on right now. Anyone know if the roush axle backs will fit? Or do I have to add piping? The borla install says cut 2 inches more of the exhaust off than the roush.
