Do all 2.3 EB shake when idling?

Went to test drive a 2021 for a kid today and it sounded fine but when put into D with the ac on it idled down to 750 and didn't sound right to me and had a shake. We put it back into park and handed back the key fob. 66k miles and looked overall ok but this didn't seem right.

It depends. Mine doesn't generally have a rough idle. But right after a fillup it occasionally will drop and shake for a second or two. I believe the Evaporative Purge valve is failing. Haven't got a code yet but I won't be surprised. It's not an expensive or difficult repair.
It's an '18 convertible with 106,7xx miles. Ford replaced the headgasket (coolant into #3) under warranty at 83k ish. It did not shake or have any odd idle issues from that.

No. The 2.3L has twin balance shafts and is fairly smooth for a big 4cyl. Not as smooth as the V8, but certainly not what you’re describing.

It only happened when in drive with the ac on. In park with ac on it sounded normal. Didn’t try it in drive with ac off.

My 2020 EB does that with the a/c on but not constantly. Low idle, but within spec according to the dealer.
