So I'm going through a little dilemma.

I plan to order a new 2015 Mustang around December. My dealer is looking at a 60 to 90 day wait time (maybe longer, I'm in Hawaii) and i have no problem with that, I'm in no rush.

I love the Ecoboost and I'm impressed. Im impressed with all models. Ive settled on a Premium Ecoboost with 6 speed manual in Deep Impact Blue with the 50 years Appearance Package (I just love how the wheels contrast nicely with the blue)

Im also looking at a GT. I would love to get a GT premium 6 speed with the 50 Years Appearance Package but its 36k with X-Plan and i just can't afford 36k, unless i can come up with another 3 or 4k down.

So i looked at the Base GT with a 6 speed. I definitely don't want the Performance Package because of the whole summer tire thing, so stripped down it is. After seeing the base interior and then the premium interior, its like, "why wouldn't you?"

Insurance isn't an issue either, as the premium between the EcoBoost and the GT is only 50 bucks more every 6 months, and the monthly finance payment would probably be an extra 15 or 20 bucks a month, but on a Premium GT it would be probably almost 100 bucks more a month.

So my question is, should i stick with the loaded Ecoboost, or sacrifice all those cool tech gadgets and the leather for a GT?

Looking forward to you guys' opinions.

I'd have a hard time picking even a loaded ecoboost over a GT in any form...

What are the numbers on a premium GT without the appearance package? If all you care about are the app pack wheels (the only things worth the app pack IMO) it would be easy to get a set later on the market when funds allow.....you won't be able to do the premium items easily on your own.

My suggestion is get the GT at whatever level you can afford.

The Ecoboost in the trim I'm looking at is about 30k on X-Plan, and the GT Premium without the appearance package is 34k on X-Plan. If i get the Premium with the optional 19x8.5 Premium Painted Wheels, its 35k. So theres still a difference of 5k between the two. Thats a pretty big difference in my book.

Yes it is. What is a GT base with X plan? I'd go that route and add 50th app wheels down the road.

If you still can't swing it, then enjoy a loaded ecoboost, not a bad fallback at all.

I feel your pain bro, I'm kind of in the same boat. Personally I'm torn between a fully loaded EB Premium and a bare bones GT Premium. I currently drive a 2012 Ram 1500 crew cab and because I'm in my 30s now the difference in insurance is less that $10 a month more. I don't want to go base GT as this will be my daily driver and I want the creature comforts the premiums have. I guess it all boils down to how big my bonus check is at the end of the year and how much the wife will allow me to put down on the car.

I regretted not getting the 2011 V6 premium when i got my base V6 in 2010. It was only gonna be another 25 bucks a month (fell into the whole "what do you want your monthly payment to be?" trap)

Plus i have negative equity I'm gonna roll over from my Taurus. Yeah, i know its a horrible practice that needs to be avoided like the plague, but its gonna take me probably the life of the loan to pay off that negative. So thats factored into everything else too.

Damn, I'm from Canada and we got hit hard. The gtpp I was gonna get was 51 after taxes. And that was with a-plan! I ended up getting a 14 for a ridiculous 20 grand off instead. You guys are lucky Haha

I've owned a '07 GT and now own a '15 Eco Premium w/ 50thA.

I know they're different cars from different times, but I like the '15 MUCH better.

I depends what you want -- if you want pure performance, go stripped GT. If you want a loaded DD, go Eco.

Make sure you figure out what you need so that you have no remorse later.

When i bought my 2011 V6, i regretted not getting the Premium. I probably wouldve kept it and i would still have it today. But this time i don't wanna make that same mistake. a GT would be awesome, but only if i could swing a premium. Otherwise, an Ecoboost would fit the bill.

Off topic, whats your gas mileage so far?

I tossed and turned over that very decision and ultimately my intended usage broke the tie.

Its my DD so Premium all the way. GT will happen in the future, its just not the time to do it now. I will enjoy my GT with every toy I please, but I made that mistake buying a mid-range Focus. I loved that car but ultimately traded up to a loaded one (and given the time that went by there were much bigger incentives)

I work in a profession where my assignment can change rapidly and my work location can be just 5 miles or 50 miles away from where i live. Knowing that i would still get the GT only if i could afford it.

Don't get all excited. We're #1 in the nation for the worst roads. We spend more per mile in roadway upkeep than any other major city. Our roads flat out suck. Maybe i should get a Jeep Wrangler. Its more suited for our roads than the Mustang is. And its hot every damn day. Today was in the mid 80's with super high humidity. Right now, at 7:05PM its 77. Those cooled seats would come in handy right about now.
