I had a 2 hours drive today and the cluster turned off twice... No bid deal.
But on the way back (another 2 hours) it literally turned off and back on probably 100-120 times. When I was 30 mins away from home it was off- on -off- on. I have a 5 minute video while car was running showing that is going crazy.
Anybody has any info about this issue? If it happens later today or tomorrow, it will go to the dealership.
Mine didn't behave like that, with rapid on-off-on cycles, but it did die eventually when the car was about 18 months old. This is a known problem with these clusters, which are also in some of the Lincoln models. If you are under warranty, or even if you are not, be firm with the dealer and have them replace the cluster. You should show them this thread and the others about this issue on the internet. Is ridiculous that Ford did not issue a recall for these clusters, considering it is a safety issue.

Thanks for the info. I mean, I have a 5 minute video of the cluster turning off and on while car in motion (highway speed) So if that doesn't work with the dealership, I don't know what will :)
My local dealership was always good to me so I believe they will look into this (I still have 2 years of warranty left)

Just an update. Car has been at the dealership since Thursday morning. I should know more tomorrow since the technician "finished early" on Friday.

That's basically what they did to mine. Two weeks later it died for good. Hopefully you will avoid that.
Late reply, sorry, but you were 100% correct. The display started to have issues again about a month after they tried reprogramming it. I was able to get a brand new unit under warranty... otherwise it would have been expensive. So far, so good...

I'd advise anyone else having even the slightest digital dash issues to get it looked at asap... and if you still have warranty left, just replace it instead of wasting time with other fixes.

I upgraded to the dash on my 17 mustang and earlier today this happened to me for the first time. Went off for about 5-10 seconds, the mileage row on the bottom came on then the entire dash about 2 seconds later. Hasn't happened since. The only thing I can think of is the day before I turned off the car before shifting it to park. I guess I am SOL since mines is a mod :fingerscrossed:

Yeah I tried that with the dealership, showed them a video of me driving without the digital dash working. I pulled the battery terminal and reconnected, which got the display working again. This happened on a Saturday. They said that without them seeing the display not working and not seeing any codes, they couldn’t do anything.
I asked them WTF was I supposed to do for the weekend? Drive it with zero instrument cluster? Clowns.

Same dealership told me that the bumper/headlight fitment issue I was having was “normal and within spec”, and told me he just looked at other mustangs on the lot that looked the same. I asked where on the lot the mustangs were so I could go look, his reply was “well there’s one on the lot that belongs to an employee, it’s in the back”. Again, clowns. Why lie and say you compared it to other mustangs, plural, and not be prepared to have a customer ask to look for themselves. Both issues were well within bumper to bumper warranty.

Fuck Ford. Glad I got rid of my 2019. Car was great minus the small issues, but the Ford dealership experience was absolute dog shit.

I would honestly record when the they tell you that they can't do anything with the digital cluster and send it to Ford corporate + a few tv stations if they wouldn't do anything. This is a f*** safety issue. Mine started doing this on a highway when I was 2 hours away from home. I had no clue how fast am I going, if there's any warning lights (airbag etc.)
Don't know why your dealership wouldn't be just like mine - showed them the video, the tech asked me to email him it as well (a part of it) and a week later I had my car back with a new cluster. Also, mine started to have issues after the dealership replaced the battery, because it died (Mustang 2019) I find that odd and I think that the issue is there, but what do I know. The bottom line is that they replaced it. Good luck.

I was unhappy to say the least. I traded the Mustang for a Tesla Model 3 Performance a few months later. Best decision I made vehicle wise. It’s a shame because I liked the car, but that dealership experience was part of the reason I got rid of the vehicle.

I totally understand. Dealerships can be a pain.
I was about to buy a Tesla for my wife, but then we started working remotely (she works remotely despite the pandemic etc) So spending 50k on a car was only reserved for me... She is fine with a 2015 Jeep, I will spend the money on toys :D
