Has anyone had a chance to test the 2018 digital dash display in freezing temps? I know that LCD screens can become very sluggish when cold. I'm wondering if there would be screen judder / lag during winter months in extremely cold states.

Have been driving at -14deg C (that's single digits in F, I think) and no problem with the digital dash. Doesn't feel or look "slow" like old displays used to in the cold.

Michigan definitely gets freezing weather so I think they'd account for that in their testing at some point and I know they aren't the best screens all the time, but no recent car I've been in has had low temperature issues with their dash or radio screens at all for years.

I'd just blame that on Sync 2 being shitty instead of the screen

Guess it does/can still happen to some people though

Those have been in F150s since 2017 model (or earlier - my 2017 has it). So yes, they have been tested in much greater amount than they will ever be tested on a Mustang...

I think you're talking about the little 4" screen. I'm pretty sure OP is talking about the 12" digital cluster that is new in 2018 and only in Mustangs.

Pretty sure at least half of the people who are anti digital dash think it's the same thing as the 4" diagnostic screens (which are admittedly huge POS's) in all Ford cars.

I mean, even the non digital dash Mustang has one dead center.

No, I am not. Check out 2017 F-150 Lariat dash... I am not sure if it is exactly the one like in '18 Mustang, but it certainly isn't small 4" one. It's pretty neat.

That’s the information screen, same tech as the 4” information screen in the 2013+ Mustang, just slightly larger. The 2018 digital gauge cluster uses a 60hz high-resolution display, it’s completely different tech. :)

Yeah, it's not the same thing at all.
