Does anyone know what socket I'm suppose to use to remove the bolts in the rear differential cover? is it a External torx socket? View attachment 364747

I found the correct socket for them. It's a E-Torx socket. I had to buy a set from Home Depot. The socket size is a E-18.

If it is an 18+ it'll be a torx plus which is slightly different. Found that out when I did my rear diff cooler...torx plus is more squared off versus rounded.

Did you have to remove any rear suspension parts to get the diff cover off? I have a cooler coming and another member paid to have his installed and he stated they told him they had to drop the rear out of the car to get to the diff!?

I'm pretty sure you have to pull the axles, drop the exhaust, and remove the drive shaft to drop the diff and remove the diff cover.

Sweet Jesus! Definitely not the late 60’s muscle car I’m used to. Guess it’s learning time. I’ll fill up the swear jar on this one.

Yeah you will get in deep on this one. It has to come out as part of the bolts that fasten the diff to the cradle go through the cover, but either way it all has to come out.
