No, just prepping for the track and since I don't have the coolers I want to do as much as possible to prevent it.I am, went with 75W-90 after talking to Tim at OP mustang (I have coolers on my 350). If I remember correctly, the 75W-140 was to help against limp mode on cars without diff coolers but don't quote me on that.
Are you having overheating/limp mode issues on track?
Translates to more likely to get a full session in on a hot day in the afternoon. Maybe 2 more laps than without it here and there. I just see the warning less. Still get it... just less. How much more time are we talking?
It's quite a bit thicker. I wouldn't run it on a street car in the winter (as it'll be so viscous and won't lubricate as well). But I wouldn't hesitate in the warmer months (Apr-Nov).Are there any drawbacks to 75-140? Can it be used on the street as well?
Anyone else go the 110 route? If you have a track pack car, I assume you're jsut as well off with a 90 and don't overthink it?!Amsoil makes a 110 weight that I run. Works well.
I liked the added viscosity since I track the car and push it hard. It was a great middle ground for my intended use and it’s worked great. I did not compare temps with this and the OEM fluid, but no overheating concerns with this. You definitely need to watch the diff temps more closely than the tranny temps.Anyone else go the 110 route?
