We got a little bit of a late start Friday night but finished up everything early Saturday evening. Ill give a little run down and review on each.

Started off installing my Redline Tuning Elite Struts:

These things are nice and super easy to put on. They work perfectly and I love the stainless finish. Thanks Redline Tuning! I took off the decals however. Since I am old school and keeping the chrome 5.0 badges, I think they look pretty slick.

Next, we started getting ready to take out the airbox, Sountube and then install the 170 Thermostat to go with my Lund 93 Tune via NGauge!:headbang:

These things came out! Plugged the firewall with some recommendations from other forum members of the Ford Master cylinder gasket only to find out later JLT or BeefCake put a plug in there! Oh well, if the one I used falls out Ill use the supplied one!

Ready for thermostat.

This is what we used to refill.

Once the thermostat was in, decided to open up some holes. I pre-drilled the ones I wanted and then had my wife do some fine touches with a small dremel to make it look clean. (NOTE: holes and thermostat seem to have made a HUGE difference in head temp and IATs for me. I was very very pleased!)

All this was done, we installed the JLT (fit/finish and installation was perfect btw, Thanks JLT!)

Then it was time for the NGauge and uploading the tune from Lund! I had my wife take care of the PC stuff...(I hate computers and I was a little nervous about the tune as I am from the foxbody days and this new "tune" stuff is so foreign to me.)

Anyways, the Tune from start to finish was an absolute breeze!!!! Only took maybe 15 minutes and I hit the start button. Car started up right away and ran like a top!!! No lights, no funky gauge issues..NOTHING! I then let the car idle and did all of the coolant top off and got ready for a test drive.

All Done!!!

I want to give a HUGE thanks to Terry with Beefcake and Lund!!!

I am going to do some data logging to send to Lund just to have them once it over but the car feels great and is definitely making quite a bit more power!

The car is definitely much faster. The first time I nailed it it actually spun through 2nd even with the traction control on! lol It NEVER did that before. Also had much more wheel spin into 3rd than ever. Previously the car would chrip 3rd pretty good on a good concrete road but now it actually spins a little more hitting 3rd. The midrange power really hits SUPER hard say between 2500 and 5000....the throttle is perfect...I dont notice any surging or bucking and overall the car drives like stock until you mash it!

Hey Thanks!!

The thermostat is recommended with the tune. I think its mainly to keep cylinder head temps down and help with pre-detonation. It also keeps the fans from running so much.

Hey, it only makes sense. Especially in Texas and Florida where the heat can be absolutely brutal!

I'm in Rockwall and have the EXACT same set-up from beefcake, nice!
I was thinking about hood struts as well.

When I did my thermostat this weekend I went back with distilled water and a bottle of redline water wetter.

So only worth doing in hot climates?
I'm not the best person to use as your sole decision, but I think it's more beneficial in hotter climate, but remember I'm N/A, the power adder crowd benefits even more than the N/A crowd. You will see me run it year round.

Hey man! Do the hood struts! I thought they were cool of course but now after having them installed....its amazing how much cleaner and just "better" it looks.

I am actually south of you a good bit in Ellis County!
