I ordered the deep impact blue, base model, performance package, and recaros at the beginning of November, the car showed up mid Jaunuary.
With 40 miles on the odometer, it showed up at the dealership with 30, I started my mods.
I actually ordered the Magnaflow Competition exhaust in December due to all the great sales going on.
I installed the exhaust right away. I have always loved how Magnaflow exhausts sound and was not disappointed in the least with the competition series.
Next up was the Steeda spring install. Nothing special here. straight forward install that took 3 hours.
I also did a little hydro dipping to make the engine compartment stand out more. I dipped the coolant cap, fuse cover, and the washer bottle lid.
I ordered an Airaid cold air kit over the JLT and this was a tough decision. The JLT setup has always seemed to flow better then any other on the market and is aesthetically pleasing. The JLT make more power on the dyno, but that is a stationary vehicle with fans blowing on it and the hood open. I have always been of the opinion that a true cold air should never have its main source of air from the engine compartment.
I also installed a Livernois 93 Octane tune on the car along with Redline hood struts.
My wife wanted to have lights on the inside of the car so I ordered the Ford interior light kit .

shot of the stock exhaust.

Stock exhaust on the floor

magnaflow going on.

new maganaflow tips

Before the Steeda springs

After the springs.

Ford interior light kit

Light kit layed out on the ground.

Hydro dipped the fuse block cover, coolant cap, and washer cap.

Airaid cold air, hydro dipped the cover, and redline hood struts installed.

Very nice. Love the color.

Do you have exhaust souns clips?

I keep going back and forth with the 2 versions.

Did you do the hydrodipping yourself?

CONGRATS!

I don't have any sound clips that do the exhaust justice. One thing about the competition series is there is a drone at 1800 under load. In a manual it's not a big deal since I usually keep the motor over 2000 anyways.

I did do the dipping. There is a lot of practice that goes into understanding how to do it correctly. To get these four parts done correctly I probably have 20 that I have screwed up. Practice practice practice.

Nice, I went for the exhaust and light kit as well. The exhaust is amazing, but I haven't gotten around to the lights yet.

The lights are super easy to install. One ground wire to hook up by the body control module, and one power wire to splice in. Let me know if you need the instructions, I can download them from fords website and shoot them over to you.
Watch the video from cj pony parts on how to remove the center console, it was helpful.

Thanks, but I handle industrial electronics and automation programming for a living, I've got it, lol. I've just been too busy to get to it lately.

What are your plans for the car? Btw, is that a neon in your garage?

I was asking if you wanted the instructions so you don't have to probe 60 wires in the kick panel till you find the one that comes from the park lamp circuit. It will save you 20 minutes.

That is a Neon on my hoist, yes.

Stainless works headers with cats are on order from Hypermotive. They should be here in a couple of weeks.
I am thinking about dipping the valve covers and doing the lettering in blue to match.
Then dip the middle part of the engine cover and paint the outside part of it body color.
Waiting on BMR to release their k member, then I am purchasing that as well.
Possible supercharger, but that is a pretty big purchase and when the stock tires won't hold the power of just my mods and the headers. Meh. We will see.

I already have them, thanks though.

Pet project?

I did something similar, but I'm leaving the stock manifolds (for now), and doing full 3" cat deletes w/ a pair of high flow cats added in.

I'm curious to see what BMR comes out with. I'm already planning on doing their irs upgrade.

Some updated photos. Here is the Bigworm light kit from the rear of the vehicle.

Ford interior light kit with the dome light covered up and the center console open.

interior light kit shot in the dark with dome light lit.

Another shot of the engine compartment. I had removed the Airaid emblem because it doesn't really match anything, and I hate company names all over the engine compartment. Found a nice grey mustang sticker that matches well with the rest of the engine compartment.

I pulled the engine cover and drilled out the factory plastic welds. I then enlarged the holes to 1/4". I used a primer/filler for the bottom piece and flat blacked it. I let it dry and then taped off the cover so I could do the inlays.
I bought a factory deep impact blue and clearcoat from www.automotivetouchup.com. and used this to do the inlays and the top cover.
I then used plastic rivets to put it all back together.
I also did some suspension work as well. Installed Steedas Billet Aluminum vertical links and their IRS bushing support system.
