The Magnetic Convertible in Sydney was an Ecoboost.
In regards to the other car to be seen at NAIAS on Monday...it will be a coupe GT...
A white one, perhaps?

My guess is it will be this convertible, along with the red perf pack 5.0 seen elsewhere.

Yes we'll be there. We'll have plenty of pics, videos and info on Monday. Ford is hosting a "Mustang deep dive" that should be fun and informative.
I wouldn't expect anyone from Ford to provide any new info about SVT cars, but if you have the chance to ask questions of someone high up in the Mustang area, maybe they would respond to a question about how they feel about the direction GM and Chrysler have taken with the Z/28 and Hellcat.

I would like to hear Ford say something like 'the Mustang will stay true to it's heritage of affordable track and strip cars despite where the opposition wants to go with unaffordable non-raceable halo cars'.

Oh boy!! Dive deep please!!!

Please get all the details from the chassis engineers for the unibody's
lateral, longitudinal, and torsional stiffness in 1,000s of LBS for a given degree/distance of flex and in percentages versus S197 and the Fox.

Ask if using Boron steel to lighten it up and stiffen like in the side impact area.

Ask about the new front subframe versus the K-Member.

Ask about the stiffer half shafts and or drive shaft mentioned in the european article about the Performance package. What specs and is it for the USA too?

Ask the suspension engineers to elaborate on why they choose double ball joint is not so much for larger wheel and brake packages but for improving the suspension geometry where is counts.... ask them about the steering axis inclination angle, scrub radius, and Ankerman steering specs and discussion.

Try to get them to explain the double ball joint a bit more to confirm my layman suspicion that as the outside tire turns there is loss of wheelbase putting even more weight on the outside tire, but is offset by much improvements in scrub radius and ankerman steering, right?

Compared to the solid axle how strong are the arms, half shafts, differential in percent or absolutes. For our spirited road racer friends with heaps of power and R compound tires that go drag racing too for fun :-)

Is it still 8.8" differential?

Half shaft spline count.

Center of gravity, roll centers, anti brake/dive etc...

You know .....

All that stuff that matters to make a GT beat the Boss and nearly everything else :-)

If there's an opportunity we'll try to get some of these answered. We may get the usual canned responses.

Any requests for specific photos or other info let us know. Hopefully we get to have a look under the hood this time.

Here's a preview outside the 40,000 square foot ballroom that Ford has set up its Behind the Blue Oval showroom.

Thats a nice venue.

Thanks in advance for giving it a shot!

If Ford's calling it a deep dive then by virtue of that they will have a whole new set of canned answers.

Pics would be any and all angles of under body parts. And the back seat there is much more room there now thanks to ILIRS.

If the hood pops then look for twin turbo space right down the side of the 5.0 block. :-)

My mistake. I don't know where this reveal is but this is definitely a GT. Or badged as one.

Would love to see the wheel lineup for all sizes for both the V6/EcoBoost and GT models. Even more specifically, would love to hear the wheel offsets (i.e., will wheels for the current S197 GTs clear the brakes on the new one; doubtful, I know). As far as photos go, if there is a chance to take shots of the paddle shifters on the auto, that would also be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't think we have a lot of interior shots of the coupe. I've seen some from the LA reveal but none from the perspective of a driver that is sitting in the seat ----in terms of visibility, headroom, etc. Speaking of can you take a pic of the roof from the inside? Curious how the double bubble actually looks from the inside.

You can compare those shots to a 2014 which I'm sure will be there also. Maybe take some pics sitting int he back seat? I haven't seen any of the quarter window from the inside.

I have a feeling the wheels we've seen won't be available when the car goes on sale, at least not fitting the same. From people who've seen the car in person stating the wheels look pushed out as tight to the fenders as possible tells me the wheels(or wheel specs) were chosen for maximum visual impact and might not be practical for retail models. Time will tell obviously.
