As the title suggests, has anyone else noticed if their black plastic decklid panel is rubbing on the bumper near the tail-lights on each side? Mine has a small mark on each side of the top of the bumper near each tail light, but the decklid panel looks perfectly lined up with the trunk lid, the bumper, and the tail lights. TIA! :)

Take a credit cared and slide it between the black appliqué and bumper, see if it sticks anywhere to rule out rubbing. Maybe when you close the trunk it pushes the tail lights into the bumper, mine have movement if you push on them.

It is definitely that it is rubbing, you can see that it is touching from the back, but it looks lined up. It doesn't look any lower than the tail lights, they all seem low. I just don't see how it could be moved up any without also moving the tail lights. I will try to get a picture tomorrow in the daylight. Thanks!

Others have had the same problem...perhaps they can comment on how the misalignment was fixed.

Mine was rubbing in the center portion of the black trim piece. Also on the left side the trunk lid was too low and the left rear tail light was in too far.

I removed the inner trunk trim piece and adjusted the trunk latch up to keep it from hitting the top of the rear fascia panel. The rear light needed to be moved outward by 1/8 of an inch. I used a rubber grommet to move it out. Everything lines up, but the damage is done to the top of the rear fascia. Deep scratches that will not buff out. I may use a clear coat pen to reapply when the temps warm up.

I took a file and went at the piece, after used 1000-2000 sand paper and wet sanded it. After I got thin strips of 3m clear vinyl and put it along the edge.

I took mine to the dealer and they referred me to the body shop, I helped the guy loosen the bolts on the left side of the trunk and slide it up a little to get it more even, then we loosened the latch in the trunk and slid it up almost a quarter of an inch. It now has a decent amount of room between it and the bumper, it is perfectly straight, and the trunk closes much easier now. I'm very happy with it! Thanks for the help everyone, I'm glad mine wasn't the only one doing this.
