I didn't think our manual cars have rev matching...

I think he's debating installing auto-blip which is a rev matching thing you can add....

I personally would learn to rev-match rather than install anything. It's a nice skill to have, I personally love to do it.

You can install auto blip?
That's some seriously programming because you have to know rpm, gear, and speed.

You are very correct about it being a nice skill to have but with the GT350 it isn't easy to do without being under thresh hold braking (9/10 out of 10/10) as you just can't get to the gas pedal to blip it. At least I can't and I have a good bit of track experience. So I'm considering installing it. The issue is the brakes are so good you just don't have to get it into threshold to stop the car.

Autoblip is great when you're braking hard and need to downshift while approaching a corner. For that it works great.

It's not as good for when you're on the highway in 6th gear and decide to go to 3rd gear for a race or to pass someone because it requires you to press the brake pedal and then the clutch. Usually when you're cruising and need to downshift you don't use the brake pedal.

I had this issue and did the throttle mod to raise the gas pedal (couple of bucks for nylon washers).

Very easy to do and can be done in less than 15 minutes.

Lots of opinions on these across the forums. When I had the 07' FRS car, I did my best to learn it. I'm very good at it in the SIM racing world but unfortunately it didn't translate well in the real world due to how the 07' was setup and being 6'3 with size 14 shoes. It was difficult to get my heal to hit the pedal and not get caught up.

I'm in agreement that learning to properly heel-toe is an invaluable skill to learn.

I ended up getting an Auto-Blip, even though I was on the fence because of the price, and absolutely loved it. I still practiced to properly do heal-toe when I could . But with the auto-blip there was no thinking involved, it all just worked like it should. Every time. Served no purpose in daily driving by any means. I always turned it off when I would get in the car...unless I was at the track. :)

I'm no pro by any means so it was great to not have to try and practice on the track which can be hard to do when you're just learning. Possibly ruining my or someone elses time by messing up or worse. To be able to drive faster on the track and to be able to properly downshift without worrying about messing up your car or causing issues for the other cars around you was a win in my book.

I highly suggest both learning to properly heal-toe as its a great lesson to learn in this racing thing that we love as well as looking into an auto-blip if it's something your really thinking about.

Video quality isn't the best but you can see it in action below. Skip to 7:39 for the faster lap. Man I miss that car...
