Clutch is a wear item, But if you've ever had a clutch go out the symptoms are different than what he's experiencing.Every car forum is full of they wont cover my clutch problem.
I gave them an earful. They told me my car looked like it was abuse but I told them what's abuse? I bought a 5.0 not a Fusion. Ford knows why customers buys 5.0s.Wow, that's surprising actually. So it was actually the clutch itself, not the slave cylinder? I'm really surprised they're covering a wearable part like that. Good for you tho!
I get that in many cases they won't cover wearable parts. Most manufacturer's won't. However, I love how these dealers are always quick to jump on the "abuse" wagon on a car that came with a freaking line lock from the factory!...
It was the clutch. Elk Grove Ford gave me a call back saying if I want, I could take my car to them after it's fixed to double check the work that was done to it. Free of charge. It was the clutch?
That's good it's being covered.
Stock clutch is horrible. Eventually I'll get something much better along with a TH400 trans.Never heard of a slave cylinder failing, but lots of clutches. Here is mine that went boom. Thing is, Ford will just put the same piece of sh1t in there and likely to happen again. I went with a McLeod RST
No way would I reinstall a Ford clutch. Even if it was under warranty. RST is what you need. Since the dealership is having a hard time sourcing a part, see if they will install an aftermarket just to get you back on the road? Never hurts to ask.Had the same issue (clutch pedal mushy and only could put it in gear with car off). Took my car to service in sacramento on aug 23rd. They said its the clutch, my clutch felt perfect until slave gave out. Parts on backorder and wont be in until the 16th. Over a month to do a damn clutch!
What the hell? Most dealerships are just fine doing the install. Run!i was wanting a twin disk so i asked the regional manager if thatd be an option, they will not install any parts from customer under warrenty work.
