LOL welp that is gonna be the next person's problem to deal with once you sign over the title as a trade!! Haha I applaud you for being a conscious individual at least.

Who knows, maybe 5 weeks from now when someone buys your car they will stroll on over to this fine forum and ask, "Yo, just bought car, why does it run like shit? How can I hold dealer responsible and get my money back?" 🤣 Happens too often that it is almost sad.
when I sold my ecoboost to carmax it had the ford performance tune. I was trying to explain to the salesperson how everything worked but unfortunately he was completely clueless lol. I included the device in the trunk so hopefully whoever bought it understands

If your ecoboost was an 18+ year model it would not matter if the new owner had the device or not since only a dealer can return 18+ ecos back to the stock tune.

True, but at least wanted whoever ended up with it to know it had that tune on it

I suppose this is what would happen if I traded in my car. I wonder how that factory tune would deal with a tank of E85?

And hopefully that would also make them aware that with the FP tune they must use 91 octane fuel at a minimum and 93 is recommended by ford if available.

E85 would be ecoboom just waiting to occur.

It is only 18+ EcoBoost's that ford does not allow for the original purchaser/owner to return to the stock tune at will from the FP program itself. All other ford platforms that they offer the FP tune for allow the owner to return to the stock tune at will.

So, the 15-17 EcoBoost's are allowed to return to stock tune by owner as well as the GTs, trucks, and SUVs as well.

I have no clue why only the 18+ EcoBoost's are singled out.

But in order for a new buyer to be able to use the program the original purchaser/owner would have to provide the login info for the FP program for them to login into the program since the FP tune is married to the VIN and the original purchaser along with the OBD dongle and cable or handheld tuner depending on if it is a Procal 3 or 4 program..

Just a quick question. If a tuned car is re-flashed by the dealer, will the car be undriveable after?
If you have a supercharger or turbo, for sure it will be a problem. Aftermarket cold air. Bigger throttle body.

It wasn't any of that. It was the headers/midpipes. Dealer told me I can set it back to stock or he will re-flash it himself. He asked if I had the the OEM manifolds/midpipes so it sounds like he's going to remove the headers/midpipes and put OEM back on.

You wont have a problem with headers and a stock tune to get you from the dealer to home so you can re flash it. For headers they change the transfer time for the O2s to heat up as it takes longer. And they might richen the top end up a bit

To bring this back. Car has been sold and I put the car back to stock for the dealer.
I still have the NGauge, is there any use for it anymore for any current owners? I don't want to just throw it away if I can sell it to someone who can use it in any way? Appreciate the advice/answers.
