I dont play my hiwatt much anymore, neighbors wouldn't be fans. I'm using fractal gear and monitors now, I can get 95% of the way, but miss moving the air..Unfortunately I'm not David although, funnily enough, that is my brother's and father's names. LOL The name's Tom. I am also a guitarist and certainly lust for a Hiwatt, but the wife might kill me if I add a fourth amp to the collection along with the 25 guitars. LOL
So, I paid $150+tax for the fob itself (I'll get the emergency key at some point later, but I just transferred the one I have into the new fob while the old one will hang off my wife's keychain) and $90 for the programming.
Good news: I have two functioning keys!
Bad(-ish) news: I now have a check engine light for code P0315 (Crankshaft position system – variation not learned) which I will get fixed tomorrow at the dealer since the guy trained on the "big machine" (as they called it) had already left for the day.
The tech said that when he hooked the laptop up (pictures below) it said that the PCM was blank and he had to basically re-flash it based on the VIN. Interestingly that means that they have base tune stored in their system by VIN, but also means that I likely did have a tune. He reprogrammed it and the car runs, idles fine, and I'm not sure if I sense a loss of power or not on the "butt dyno" but I'm also not going to whomp on it until I get that cleared.
The takeaway: So, it looks like you need the stock tune to program a key but it's doable. This is fine, since I'm swapping exhaust soon anyway and will likely be getting a tuner of my own (unless I can find the previous owner and he just forgot to throw the tuner in the car).

Crank learn can be handled with a tuner, and a simple enough. I'd get my hands on a tuner sooner than later.
Not thread jacking but I will be selling an sct x4 in the very near future. I just need to be sure it's unmarried
