Well I had a weird noise when clutch is engaged and took it in to the dealer that I bought the car from. After about 3 hours they tell me they are having to disassemble the transmission. Im not sure how to feel about this especially on such a 'new' vehicle. I will keep this open to share my experience with everyone as the process goes along.

Just pray that they don't try to repair it and just order a new tranny.

Good luck.

Hope your dealer knows what they are doing. Probably a piece of cake for some dealers. I wasn't so lucky with my last 5.0. The dealer tried to repair the manual transmission twice making it worse each time. Eventually, Ford gave up and shipped them a new replacement to put in.

My 2010 GT had to have the transmission replaced (under warranty). Ford, at first, insisted that I had damaged it. But my dealer had their mechanic run a computer diagnostic on the problem (transmission burned out going evenly at 40 mph). I didn't know that the engine computer constantly recorded such facts. Ford flew in an expert to look at the transmission. Ford sent out a replacement immediately and I had a new transmission within one week.

does this mean it makes noise when the clutch peddle is pushed or released ?
It made a weird noise when pressed and continued until it was released.

As far as upgrading clutch I'll wait to hear the diagnosis on this one. Im just hoping they don't try and fix something and just replace the whole damn thing.

Keep me posted, i have what im fairly certain is a bad input shaft/bearing issue and am dreading a rebuilt transmission ontop of a new engine already.

Ive already had it looked at and all parties agreed something is wrong but with the backorder of parts will be out a car for another month.

Who are you working with? Walker down in Tampa?

Agreed. Had a Ford dealer rebuild a Fiesta trans twice, screwed it up. Ford had to replace it when I took it to another dealer. Wasted almost 20 days of work dealing with this.

I will try my best to get a replacement transmission rather then rebuilt. I shouldn't have to accept a rebuild when i have a warranty and this definitely shouldn't have happened on a car with 13k miles. I drove my dad's 07 GT 5 speed w/ Procharger and never had any issues even with drag racing it. I have been tossing up asking them to get the tranny in the GT350 and ill pay for the difference. We'll see how that goes though.

Under the contract you agreed to when purchasing the vehicle, Ford has the right to define the fix for whatever is wrong under warranty whether or not it is to your satisfaction, only to meet proper operation. Be prepared to be given a rebuilt transmission and to accept that. The MT-82 isn't a brand new thing so a Ford dealer should be able to handle it. The Fiesta tranny, at the time, was new and nobody had rebuilt one at the dealership and so basically I was the guinea pig and I paid dearly for that.

^Truth...the don't have to provide new. Just like insurance companies don't have to provide "Original Ford Parts" when paying a claim. They can use a similar product that works/looks the same as original.
