And again, the 3.73 definitely plays a role here. Lets say, just for shits and giggles, that the total lash in the differential and axle splines is 1.5 degrees of rotation (not a terribly unreasonable number). With a 3.31:1 final drive ratio, that translates into a measurement of 4.96 degrees of rotation when measured at the companion flange. Using a 3.73 ratio, that becomes 5.6 degrees - about 12.5% higher lash - and is kind of a big deal if your system spec has a limit of 5 degrees.

all the 3.73 similar? I test drove a PP but I don't recall it making any noise
