Deadbolt on steeting column

I've been reading about my optional security package.i researching it apparently there's a deadbolt that slides into steering column that locks it.posts I've read thru 2018 say it makes a loud noise,using the term rifle shot sound.havent seen any 19 posts.so is there still a deadbolt upon exiting for the 19,and dies it still make a sound.mine doesn't,so don't know if the fixed the sound,or mine isn't set up right,or 19s don't have it.thanks

Yes the electronic steering lock is part of the security package. If you want to check to see if it’s working leave you window open, lock the car and walk away. Make sure you leave your fob out of range and go check you wheel.

I have that on my 2017 and its definitely a little loud. Not a gun shot but it you can hear it lock from outside the car when you are walking away. When i first bought the car i was sitting in it playing with some stuff and it startled the crap out of me though.

Oh man, so THAT’s what that noise is?! Learn something new every day. It’s definitely loud. Not hurt your ears loud but startle you loud.
