Did anyone actually buy a Mustang without all 3 extras ?
Me! Well, the Ecoboost. That came with just the magnetic metallic paint!

GT had the sat/nav and shaker added which was well worth it (inc upgrade to sync 3). Never felt the need for parking sensors with the camera there and never had heated/cooled seats so skipped those too

To update, I went and had a look at it, and it all seemed to check out, didn't have any of the issues people mentioned like the 'typewriter tick' or ill fitting panels.
So I have in fact bought it and the drive home confirmed it was exactly what I hoped for 😁

I couldn't find any mention of the oil filter being replaced but the general consensus seemed to be that if it was gonna happen it would be in first 3years/10k? Is there a easy visual check to know if it's been changed?

Congrats! Bet that drive home was good fun

I'm sure you may have seen it already but the recent-ish thread talks about the oil cooler issue and what years/models it effects https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/oil-cooler-kit.153161/ consensus is that the oem solution, which was "fixed" by ford for the later 2017 pre face lift models is still susceptible to failure.

The typewriter (or bbq tick) was a face lift model thing so you shouldn't be concerned about that one.

Generally the build quality on these cars is "good", but it's certainly not where you'd hope it would be for how much these things cost. My advice would be to pay close attention to everything and just seek answers on here for anything you're concerned about, chances are if you run in to a problem, someone on here has been through it!

Enjoy and keep us posted on your planned mods šŸ˜‰

Great news and well done. Look forward to see what you do to this car as no one leaves them unmolested.

Just check to see if you have the standard Pirelli P Zero tyres on the rear. If you do then I’d strongly recommend testing out the Line Lock feature and performing a burnout before swapping them for Michelin MP4S.

The (then) standard fit tyres are lethal in our climate and you’ll read many a Mustang driver found the wrong side of a hedge as a result.
The MP4S tyres are a massive improvement and were fitted as standard to later Mustangs as a result of the aforementioned issue.

It's funny you say that as I was aware the tyres are original and that it would be top of the list to replace but they still have about 50% tread so I thought they would do for a while.
However on this weekends damp roads a few to many rear twitches and unintended wheel spins have convinced me to do just as you suggested ASAP!

That was until MY2021 came along and they decided to go back to them ...

I understand the Mach 1 has retained the MP4S, if you were cynical you might start wondering if that was done purposefully ... lol

I remember thinking the P Zeros were not that bad when I first got my (then) new Mustang. Come the cold months in the wet it was damn near undriveable unless you had it on snow mode !
Changes the MP4S’s as per the recommendations on here and it was night and day difference grip wise.

No more did I have to drive walking speed around roundabouts !
