Dash Signature

Hey all,

New member here, been browsing the forum taking in all the great advice and tips while looking for my first mustang.

My question relates to a 2016 GT that I am interested in. It has all the spec that I'm looking for but it also has a Shelby signature on the dash that I'm not to keen on. Browsing the web I could see no reference to any others that have this so assumed it was a transfer that I could remove, however the dealer is saying it is a limited edition dash that came on the car.
Has anyone heard anything about this before or is he just trying to raise the price.

I believe that is just a vinyl copy of Carroll Shelby's signature. The previous owner probably purchased one from the Shelby store, or elsewhere, and installed it himself. The dealer is clueless.

If he's charging you any more than an extra £2.65 he's having a laugh.

Looks like a cheap sticker off eBay !
You should argue it actually devalues the car as it’s not a Shelby and ask for a discount !

I have knocked them down £600 in principle over the phone, but going to give it an in person look over/pickup on Sat.

I like the colour combo and it’s a decent spec.
Got to lose the dash decal but the other subtle mods are good and compliment the car nicely.

Carroll Shelby passed away in 2012 , the very earliest RHD Mustang,s did not appear in the UK until late 2015, I'd ask for a new facia.
Ruby red smashing colour especially when clean and polished in the sun light.

Check with the Dealer re "Custom Pack 1". I have a 2016 GT which I bought new, I have all the options which were - Shaker Pro System, Heated/Cooled Seats, Sat nav - Only option I did not have was Auto. This was not noted as Custom pack 1 from memory.

From the interior pic I can see it has Shaker and also the heated/cooled seats.

Can also see the car has the chrome around the windows but they have stuck with the black wheels rather than the nickle which i had.

Ruby red is an awesome colour, not too many of them about either.

The custom pack was an option where you got all the optional extras (Sat Nav, speakers and heated/cooled seats) with a silver trim around the windows. I got all the extras but not in the custom pack meaning I got black trim around the windows. Did anyone actually buy a Mustang without all 3 extras ?

There was also 3 Power Packs Ford added at the end of 2016, the first 2 were available over here but it's not more than a CAI and a tune. The 3rd Power Pack was delayed due to emissions issues, I'm not sure if it ever did get approved over here. I went and bought all the parts separately and got a Lund tune instead.

• 40 lb-ft gain at 1500rpm
• Industry exclusive open air filter with CARB EO

M-9452-M8 - Power Pack 3

• Includes GT350 cold air intake with 87mm throttle body and GT350 intake manifold M-9424-M52
• 37 horsepower and 5 lb-ft peak gains over stock
• 60 horsepower gain at 7500rpm
• Industry's only 50-state legal calibration with performance intake manifold

With it being a rhd 2016 GT, I'd ask whether the oil cooler has been replaced or you'll end up with either coffee coloured coolant or like me at the side of the road while your car dumps its oil.
